My goal is to match your pet's routine as much as possible while you are away, and my schedule reflects that. In addition to pet sitting, I care for an elderly family member, which allows for a lot of flexibility.

Safety, trust & environment
I’m happy to come to your home, where your pet is most comfortable and their routine stays as normal as possible. My goal is to earn your cat or dog’s trust so they see my visits as something to look forward to while they’re missing their favorite people. With cats, I let them set the pace. I wait for them to approach, sniff me, and decide when they’re ready to say hello. Dogs are usually much more social, but I still like to get down to their level and let them get to know me before we jump into playtime or a walk. Trust is everything—both for your pets and for you. I want you to feel confident that your furry family member is safe, happy, and cared for just the way you would care for them yourself.
Information Ashley S. would like to know about your pet
The more info you can give me about your pet the better! I get down on the floor with my cats when I feed them so I would tell that to a sitter because it makes them feel safer, even with a new person. Maybe the ice cream truck song makes your huskie sing - that helps me know why your dog is howling for no reason on a walk! Every detail helps :)
A typical day
Depending on your comfort level, I am always thrilled to take a pup on a long trail walk or to a park if that is something they enjoy.

Pet care experience
Is your pup a social eater who gets a little sad when their humans are away? Don’t worry—I’m more than happy to sit on the floor with them, offer some calm encouragement, and help them feel comfortable enough to eat at their own pace. Maybe your senior cat needs medication, injections, or someone to keep a close eye on their resting respiratory rate, appetite, water intake, or other important health changes. Or maybe your furry family member simply needs someone to stop by for fresh food and water, playtime, and plenty of snuggles while you’re away. Whatever your pet’s needs, I’ll care for them with the same dedication and attention I give my own. I have extensive experience caring for both cats and dogs, including seniors and pets with complex medical needs. I’m comfortable administering medications, giving injections, following detailed care instructions, and adapting to each pet’s unique routine. If your pet has a specific schedule or care plan, I’m happy to follow it closely to keep their routine as familiar and stress-free as possible. Whether your pet needs extra patience, a calm presence, or specialized care, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I also lived with veterinarians for 15 years, where I gained invaluable practical knowledge about animal behavior, common medical conditions, and the subtle changes that can signal something isn’t quite right. While I’m not a veterinarian, I learned what situations should prompt a call to you or your veterinarian, along with countless practical tips for safely handling and caring for pets. I know how much trust it takes to leave someone else with a member of your family. My goal is to give you complete peace of mind, knowing your pet will receive the same kindness, patience, attention, and respect I would want for my own.

Reviews
Ashley is literally the only person outside of my immediate family that I trust with my cat, Bowzer. He’s my little old man with special food, daily meds, and a routine that really matters, so I don’t leave him with just anyone. Ashley took such great care of him, and I never had to worry while I was away. She always sent me pictures and little updates during her visits, which I absolutely loved. It was so reassuring to see Bowzer happy and know he was in good hands. Even our other cat, who normally hides from everyone, started coming out to see her! That alone says a lot. If you need someone to care for your pets like they’re their own, Ashley is the person you want. I wouldn’t hesitate to trust her with my animals again
Ashley is a great choice as a petsitter! Her closest friends include 4 veterinarians, so she's spent a lot of time "vet adjacent", which has given her a lot of knowledge that typical pet sitters may not have. Her own cats receive excellent care and I can always count on her to take great care of my Labrador when I have to travel. My dog always bounds into Ashley's house like she owns the place and loses her mind when Ashley comes to mine - she's definitely one of her favorite people! Besides being caring and knowledgeable, Ashley is very honest, ethical, and reliable - you can feel comfortable leaving her at your home with your pets, knowing that they will receive great care and your home will be treated with respect.
I am delighted to recommend Ashley as a pet sitter and caregiver. I am a veterinarian, and Ashley was my roommate for approximately five years. During that time, she cared for my pets on countless occasions, including animals with significant medical needs that required careful monitoring, medication administration, and close attention to detail. I always felt completely confident leaving my animals in her care. Ashley has a natural ability to connect with animals. She is calm, patient, observant, and genuinely attentive to each pet's individual personality and needs. She is also exceptionally trustworthy, dependable, and communicates well, which provides tremendous peace of mind when you're away from your pets. One quality that truly sets Ashley apart is her experience around veterinary medicine. Over the years, she has spent time working alongside veterinarians, giving her a stronger medical knowledge base than the average pet sitter. She is comfortable recognizing subtle changes in an animal's condition and understands the importance of following medical instructions carefully. In addition to caring for dogs and cats, Ashley has experience with non-traditional companion animals, including rabbits. Ashley is organized, conscientious, and genuinely loves the animals entrusted to her. She treats every pet as if it were her own and consistently goes above and beyond to ensure they are safe, comfortable, and happy. I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, reliable, and compassionate pet sitter.
