All doors and gates are secured as soon as I come in. If you have a key it is hidden at the last visit. I try my best to make sure everything is clean before I leave!
Information Ashley R. would like to know about your pet
All breeds are welcome! Would like to know if they’re good with other animals and children or if they have any fears/dislikes/health concerns/medications/possible aggression/are they house trained/etc. We usually go over all of this during a meet and greet.
A typical day
Any authorized areas you give I can take them to if it is a park/etc, nice walks, playing with their favorite toys, or even just running around the yard! If they like to lay around we can sit together or watch tv! Some animals are also stressed while their owner is gone so we can also just sit in silence as well!

Pet care experience
Unavailable dates: October 9-14, November 6-8. Maternity leave starts December 1 until March 1. My name is Ashley, I am 33 years old and have been watching animals through Rover for the past 7 years but have been caring for animals even longer. We moved to Roxboro from the Wake Forest area in October 2024. I am an Army Veteran as is my husband. Together we have a toddler and another on the way, due in December. I try not to bring my toddler with me to my visits, some of clients have said it’s okay and they play and get extra exercise! I currently have a dog and a cat, we’ve had chickens and turkeys at our last home. I do not bring my dog to any visits. I have plenty of experience with a wide range of animals: dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, fish, small animals like bunnies and guinea pigs, farm animals like chickens and donkeys, and always willing to learn more! I also have experience with administering medications and other medically complex animals. I personally have had animals with serious medical issues so finding someone who understands the importance of proper and timely care is the top of my list. I strive to give every animal the best care and help ease the pet parents mind while away. All of my services offered are out of your home, I do not offer hoarding in my own home (NC state law requires anyone watching animals in their own home to have a kennel license.) I offer drop in visits or walks (30 min or 1 hour for both services.) Most animals are the most comfortable at home in their own usual and familiar space. It also makes it easier for you by not having to pack up their items for drop off or even pick up. I would love to be given the opportunity to watch your animals! ————————————————————— FAQs: •Quiet hours (no messages will come through): 9pm-7am. •Animals must be child friendly as my child does occasionally come with me. •I do not offer constant care (not able to leave - I do have daily visits booked. If available it is by the hour.) •I accept all breeds and weights of animals. •Service radius: 20 miles from Roxboro. •Earliest visit: 6am / Latest visit: 8pm. •Walks may be shorter due to weather such as if it’s too hot or wet to ensure the health of the animal. It gives them time to cool off and dry off if needed. •1 hour visits are harder to schedule, especially during the holidays/high volume dates. •If your dog needs a walk, please book it as a walk and not a drop in visit. •Bookings with very limited notice are hard to schedule. Please give at least one-two days notice. •I offer ONE meet and greet free of charge, any after that needs to be booked as a drop in visit. Key exchanges/pick up or drop off is also included in this. •I do NOT accept new clients without a meet and greet. We make sure the animal is comfortable with me, go over their care, and any other information needed. This is NONNEGOTIABLE as it ensure the safety and well being of myself and the animals. •Each animal receiving care needs their own profile to be added to the booking, this ensures they are covered by the Rover Guarantee in case anything happens. •I do not offer any special discounts or rates. Rover has a one time, first booking as a new user for $20-$40 off your first booking: ASHLER95231. •Requested times: I try my best to make the times requested within +/- 1 hour with travel between clients. Animals needing time sensitive medication are given priority. •In case of inclement weather (hurricanes, snow, etc): please have an emergency contact available in case I am unable to make it. •Cancellation policy: -Non-holidays: same day for a full refund. -Holidays: 3 days before the booking begins to receive a full refund. •Holiday rates are higher due to higher demand and sitters taking time away from their families. •Holiday requests cannot be held longer than 72 hours due to demand. •Bookings are not confirmed until BOTH parties have agreed and finished their portion on Rover. •Bookings are also not confirmed until they are paid in full, Rover holds onto the funds until 3 days after the booking ends to ensure both parties are satisfied. •Unavailable dates: not available for any services and not available by phone. Messages will be answered when I return. •Rover does charge the owner and sitter for using the Rover platform. I personally like the platform as everything is in one place and my taxes are easier at the end of the year through a 1099. It is against TOS to go off platform. •Some holidays, and during the summer, I have more availability as my husband is off work (teacher) to watch our child.
Reviews

Ashley is amazing. She is so good with my elderly boy and my silly beagle. I’m so thankful she does drop ins for us daily!

Ashley watched our Chocolate lab and Minature Australia Shepherd while we were on vacation. She followed feeding instructions and her notes/pictures were great, leaving us at ease until we returned home.

Ashley is great!!!

Ashley is amazing, as always! She’s great with my dogs and gives them the individualized attention and care that they need.
