I’m going into my junior year at Virginia Tech with years of hands-on experience caring for dogs, cats, and small animals. I’ve grown up with pets my whole life and currently have a yellow lab at home in Richmond named Cheddar so I’m very comfortable with all ages, sizes, and energy levels. I’ve pet-sat for friends, neighbors, and family including overnight stays, feeding routines, daily walks, and giving pets lots of attention and playtime. I’ve also cared for fish and hamsters so I’m confident with small-pet needs too. I treat every pet like they’re my own!

Schedule
I’m happy to come to your home for pet care. Since I live in a college house most of the year, I actually prefer visiting your home where your pet is most comfortable. You can always text me to check my availability, and I’ll work around your schedule as best as I can. I have a car so getting to your home is easy and I’m happy to take your pet on walks or follow their normal routine.

When caring for pets in a client’s home I focus on keeping their routine as familiar and stress free as possible. I make sure doors are secure, food and water are refreshed, and any instructions you give me are followed exactly. I’m respectful of your space and I treat your home with the same care and responsibility I treat your pet. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or quiet company, I make sure your pet feels safe while you’re away!

A typical day
I really tailor activities to each pet’s normal routine so they feel comfortable and at home. I’m very open to following whatever the owner already does since consistency is important for pets. Depending on the dog’s energy level and usual schedule, I’m happy to do walks, playtime like fetch or tug, backyard time, or just relaxing and keeping them company. I also like using any toys or enrichment activities they already enjoy so their day feels familiar, safe, and stress-free.

- A lot of pet parents give me checklists or notes when we first meet or leave instructions on the counter, and I really appreciate that. Also sometimes I like to write everything down so I can make sure I’m following the pet’s routine exactly how the owner prefers. Things that are helpful to know ahead of time include their normal schedule, feeding instructions, walk/play routine, any behavioral quirks, and what helps them feel most comfortable. I focus a lot on consistency so the pet has an easy, low-stress experience while their owner is away.
