I’m a graduate student at Pitt and spend about 40 hours a week in clinical settings treating patients. Because of that, my weekday availability is more limited, but I can offer select drop-in visits during early mornings or evenings depending on the day. My weekends are much more flexible, and I’m fully available for drop-ins, walks, and overnight care from Friday through Sunday. I’m very organized with my schedule, so when I commit to a visit, you can count on me being reliable, punctual, and consistent.

Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for pets, whether in my home or a client’s home. I take the time to understand each pet’s routine, behavior, and any specific needs so I can provide consistent, stress-free care. I follow all instructions closely, including feeding schedules, medications, and exercise routines, to keep everything as familiar as possible for your pet. In a client’s home, I’m very respectful of your space and keep things clean, secure, and exactly as you left them. I make sure doors, gates, and leashes are always properly managed to prevent any safety issues, and I’m attentive to your pet at all times. If pets are in my home, they’ll have a calm, safe environment with plenty of supervision. I do have an unfenced yard, so all outdoor time would be closely monitored and leashed to ensure safety. I also prioritize communication, providing regular updates and photos so you feel confident and connected while you’re away. My goal is to create a safe, comfortable environment where your pet feels cared for and you have complete peace of mind.

Before caring for a pet, I always like to learn as much as I can so I can keep their routine consistent and make them feel comfortable. It’s really helpful to know their feeding schedule, portion sizes, and any dietary restrictions or allergies. I also like to understand their daily routine, including walk times, bathroom habits, and where they like to sleep. Behavior and personality are just as important. Knowing if they’re shy, high-energy, anxious, or reactive around other animals or people helps me adjust how I interact with them. I also ask about any triggers, fears (like thunderstorms or fireworks), and what usually helps calm them down. Health and safety details are a big priority too. I make sure I’m aware of any medications, medical conditions, vet contact information, and emergency instructions. It’s also helpful to know about leash behavior, escape tendencies, or anything specific I should watch for during walks or while in the home. Lastly, I love learning the little things that make your pet happy, like their favorite toys, treats, or quirks. Those details help me give them not just care, but a really positive and personalized experience while you’re away.

A typical day with me is structured, attentive, and still really fun for your pet. I start by making sure they’re comfortable and settled, whether that’s a morning potty break, feeding, or just easing into the day with some attention and affection. Throughout the day, I check in regularly for walks, playtime, and any specific care needs like medications or special routines. Evenings are more relaxed, with dinner, another walk or litter box check, and winding down time so they feel calm and secure before bed. For fun, I like to tailor activities to each pet’s personality and energy level. For dogs, that could be neighborhood walks, playing fetch, enrichment games, or just getting outside to explore and burn off energy. For cats, I spend time engaging them with toys, laser pointers, or interactive play, plus plenty of cozy cuddle time if they’re into that. I also love incorporating little mental stimulation activities, especially for more active or curious pets. My goal is always to keep them happy, active, and feeling like their routine hasn’t been disrupted while you’re away.
