Pet care experience

Experienced, compassionate care 💛

12+ years of professional pet and farm sitting experience. I offer tailored care to dogs, cats, horses and other farm animals. I specialize in caring for senior animals and pets with medical or complex care needs. I care for your animals like they are my own and offer compassionate, patient care that meets your pets full range of needs. My love for animals began at the age of 2 by bringing home a garter snake and over the years I've had dogs, cats, a horse, birds and other fuzzy critters that I've loved dearly. A meet and greet is required for first time clients to allow me to get to know your pets and their routine to ensure they receive the best care possible. 💛🐱🐕

Ashley is the only person I trust with my dogs and horses. She is always reliable and provides safe and supportive care. Recently one of my horses had a freak accident. Ashley knew exactly what to do and took immediate action which saved her life. That kind of care is priceless!!

Ashley is so intuitive with animals. Her care truly goes beyond checkboxes. She's highly experienced, organized, and always goes above and beyond with care for our dogs, chickens and horses. When I am busy or traveling and need help with my quirky crew of misfits that I love dearly, I call Ashley every time. She's been our sitter for the last 5 years and we are so grateful to have her!

I have had many sitters care for my animals and no one compares to the care Ashley provides. She is calm, dependable, and experienced. She is exceptional with our dogs and horses and has been so patient with our new rescue girl who's had a rough past. Ashley is so patient and was able to gain her trust in the first meet. She is truly phenomenal.

My goal is to provide dependable, attentive care while keeping communication clear and expectations straightforward. These policies help ensure that both you and your animals are well cared for while you are away. Please let me know if your animals have any special care needs that I can account for. I prefer to work with senior dogs who need daily medication and who may have special care needs. Meet & Greet: New clients are asked to schedule a meet and greet before their first booking. This gives me an opportunity to meet everyone, discuss your animals' routines and needs, familiarize with the property, establish emergency contacts, and make sure the arrangement is a good fit for everyone. I reserve the right to decline a booking if I determine that the care, environment, or circumstances are outside the services I am able to safely and reasonably provide. The Care Sheet: Each client has access to a digital farm care sheet that serves as the primary reference for your animals' routine and care instructions. The care sheet includes information such as feeding schedules, medications, supplements, special instructions, and important notes about your animals. I maintain the schedule throughout each booking to keep care organized and provide continuity from one visit to the next. Before each booking, I ask that you review the care sheet, and notify me of anything that has changed since my last visit. If there are no changes, simply confirming that the existing information is current is sufficient. Because the care sheet is used to guide daily care, clients are responsible for ensuring that the information provided is complete, accurate, and up to date. Payment & Booking: If a booking is canceled after the sitter has arrived or if the sitter is unable to perform care because required access, supplies, or instructions were not provided by the client, time and mileage already incurred remain billable. Property Access: Clients are responsible for providing reliable access to the property and ensuring that all necessary keys, gate codes, door codes, remotes, and other access methods are working before the beginning of a booking. Please also make sure that all supplies, medications, feed, and equipment necessary for your animals' care are accessible and available. If I am unable to access the property because of a missing, incorrect, or non-functioning key, code, lock, gate, or other access issue, I will make reasonable attempts to contact you and resolve the problem. Additional waiting time, trips, or expenses resulting from an access issue may be charged separately. Communication: I primarily communicate with clients by text or phone. Please make sure I have a reliable way to reach you, as well as an emergency contact who can make decisions for your animals if you are unavailable. During a booking, I will provide updates as agreed upon and communicate promptly about anything that requires your attention. Cancelation: I understand that plans can change, and I appreciate as much notice as possible when a booking needs to be canceled. Whenever possible, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance. If a booking is canceled after I have arrived at the property, the full amount of the scheduled booking will still be due. This allows me to account for the time, travel, and availability I have committed to your animals. Cancelation Overnight bookings are generally based on a 24-hour care window. Check-in and check-out times are arranged in advance based on your animals' care needs and my availability. Check-in & Check-out: Check-out extending beyond the agreed-upon 24-hour window will be subject to an extended check-out fee, based on the additional time reserved. Arrival and departure times will be confirmed before each overnight stay. Safety: My safety and the safety of your animals are important parts of providing good care. Please let me know in advance about anyone who may be present on the property while I am there, including family members, guests, contractors, workers, hunters, or anyone else who may be using the property. Please let me know about any situations that could affect my safety or your animal’s safety, including hunting activity, loose or aggressive animals, unsafe fencing or structures, etc. If I encounter an unexpected safety concern, I will contact you and make a reasonable effort to resolve it. I reserve the right to leave the property or cancel care if I believe a safety concern presents an unreasonable risk and the issue cannot be adequately addressed. Scope of Care: Standard rates include feeding, routine monitoring, and emergency intervention within my scope and in accordance with the animal's attending veterinarian. Specialty care and medical care is subject to a small additional fee. Care outside of my scope related to rehabilitation, injection of prescription medication, controlled substances, hand walking, etc., must be directed by the animal's licensed attending veterinarian. I am happy to provide necessary care within my scope under veterinary direction. I ask that you please communicate any significant changes to your animals' care or routine before the beginning of a booking whenever possible. Requests outside the agreed scope of care may require an additional fee or separate arrangement. I will discuss this with you before providing additional services whenever reasonably possible. Inclement Weather: I will make reasonable efforts to provide care during severe weather, but my ability to safely access or remain on a property may be affected by conditions such as ice, flooding, severe storms, fallen trees, impassable roads, or other hazardous conditions. When snow or ice is forecast, overnight stays at a higher rate may be required in advance when appropriate to ensure continuity of care and minimize weather-related travel delays. If conditions make travel or access unsafe, I reserve the right to modify, delay, or cancel a visit until it can be completed safely. I will communicate with you as soon as possible if this occurs. Overnight Stays: For overnight stays, please provide a clean set of sheets for the bed I’ll be using. I understand that life gets busy, and I typically bring my own sheets and towels as a backup, but having clean bedding available is an important part of preparing for an overnight stay. Thank you for helping make the space comfortable and ready for care. Emergency Veterinary Care: Animals don’t always stick to the schedule, so I like to have a plan in place before you leave. I ask every client to provide current emergency contacts and veterinary information before a booking. If an animal becomes ill or injured while you’re away, I’ll contact you or your designated emergency contact and, when needed, the attending veterinarian or an appropriate emergency veterinary facility. If immediate veterinary care is needed and you’re unavailable, I will work with your designated veterinarian to determine the appropriate next steps and advocate for your animal until you can be reached. Emergency veterinary expenses are the responsibility of the owner. As part of your booking information, you’ll also provide an emergency spending authorization so I know what I’m authorized to approve if you cannot be reached.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
