Safety, trust & environment

[FOR PETS HOUSED AT MY HOME] I have a fenced-in yard and do not leave pets outside unattended. Safety is my number one priority. I do not leave dogs unattended in the home. If I will not be home for even a short period of time, I will let you know prior to booking an overnight stay. I only accept crate-trained dogs in my home and will crate your furry friend with safe enrichment items if I have to leave for a short period of time. I have cameras throughout my home and on all crates (which are always inside and temperature monitored) so I always know how your furry friend is. For overnight stays in my home, I require that all dogs are up to date with vaccinations and are on flea/tick, and heartworm preventative. I also require a meet and greet in most cases in a neutral environment for your furry friend before booking. I have 2 male dogs of my own and want to ensure your animals get along with mine. I only accept crate trained dogs in my home. I require proof of up to date vaccinations as well flea/tick/heartworm preventative.

Information Ashley L. would like to know about your pet

[LET ME KNOW] I would like to know if your dog has a prey drive, bite history (or you think they could bite without a history), if they can escape fences (jumping, digging, climbing, etc.), and if they get along with all dogs and people. If your dog has behavioral concerns of any type, please let me know and I will try to accommodate. In most cases I require meet and greets prior to making 2 or more visits in which I will have hands on time with your dog to make sure my services are a right fit. I will always advocate for your dog and maximize my visit time. I do also require proof of updated rabies vaccination.

A typical day

[TYPICAL DAY] We will go on walks in the neighborhood, have active play time, and of course lots of cuddles and love. Activities are specific to your dogs needs. I love to spend time outside with my furry friends whenever the weather is nice.

Pet care experience

About Me I am an avid animal lover with years of hands-on pet care experience. Moose, my rescue dog, and Wesley, my Golden Retriever, have played a significant role in shaping my passion for animal care and training. Both Moose and Wesley are registered therapy dogs, and we spend much of our free time volunteering together in the community. Currently, they volunteer at CLT Airport, and Wesley also participates in a local library program. We have experience working in a variety of therapy settings and enjoy making a positive impact through animal-assisted interactions. I am an AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator, and training has always been a passion of mine. Moose has earned several AKC titles, including Trick Dog Intermediate, Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Advanced Canine Good Citizen (CGCA), and Urban Canine Good Citizen (CGCU). Through years of training, volunteering, evaluating dogs, and handling my own dogs, I have developed strong skills working with dogs of various temperaments, energy levels, and training backgrounds. I also have experience assisting a professional dog trainer and have worked with a variety of breeds, including working dogs. Whether it’s a high-energy sporting breed, a working breed, or a laid-back companion, I understand that every dog has unique needs and deserves individualized care. In my free time, you’ll often find us volunteering, training, or participating in dog sports. Dock diving and Barn Hunt are among our favorite activities, and I enjoy finding new ways to provide enrichment and mental stimulation for dogs. I am also knowledgeable about guinea pig care, having previously owned and cared for one myself. Experience I have experience caring for a wide variety of breeds, sizes, and ages. From toy breeds to giant breeds and everything in between I am comfortable meeting the unique needs of each pet. I am confident administering medications, following specialized feeding routines, and accommodating specific care instructions. My experience with working breeds and active dogs has helped me develop strong handling skills, but I am equally comfortable caring for senior pets, puppies, and dogs with lower activity levels. Providing services through Rover is not my full-time profession, which allows me to carefully manage my client load and ensure each pet receives individualized attention. Schedule I make every effort to keep my availability calendar accurate and up to date. To ensure quality care and attention for every pet, I limit the number of client families I work with at one time. Personalized Care Every pet is unique, and I tailor my services to meet your pet’s individual needs and your preferences as an owner. While you’re away, I provide honest, detailed updates along with photos so you can feel confident that your pet is happy and well cared for. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Text messages are preferred and typically receive the quickest response.

A week before we were leaving to go out of town for Christmas, the company I hired to watch our dogs cancelled. We have 8 dogs so it’s not easy to find someone to take them on, especially during the holidays. After calling well over a dozen companies I decided to try rover and found Ashley. I am SO glad I did. Ashley is by far the BEST pet sitter I’ve ever had. She is knowledgeable, trustworthy, patient and thorough. She not only loves dogs, she understands them and was able to deal with our formerly feral rescue dog’s behavior issues. Her updates were specific and made me laugh because she definitely understood our dogs individual quirks. Our dogs all got the attention we hoped they would while we were away. AND I came home to my house being cleaner than I left it! Obviously, we will hire Ashley again anytime we need a pet sitter. I can’t say enough good things about Ashley! Thank you for taking such good care of our babies!!!!
