Hi, I’m Ashley — founder of Kindred Canine Co. I almost 25 years of hands-on experience in dog training, behavioral rehabilitation, rescue work, fostering, structured socialization, and canine management. I specialize in highly individualized, trainer-led care for dogs requiring structure, reinforcement, enrichment, confidence building, and real-world behavioral development. My approach goes far beyond standard daycare or pet sitting — dogs in my care receive consistent structure, guidance, and reinforcement throughout the day in a calm, highly managed environment. I’m fully insured and based in the beautiful Westover neighborhood of Stamford, CT on a private 2-acre property with secure outdoor space, structured walking routes, and training equipment used for confidence-building and behavioral development. Our small rescue dog Lucy stayed with Ashley 6 nights and the transformation was amazing! Ashley is a very talented and passionate trainer and I will certainly recommend her to anybody needing dog training and/or boarding. Lucy had strong reactivity to other dogs and during the boarding she gained her confidence and was able to relax. She is a much happier dog now and I was able to go to the dog park for the first time without a growl or attack on another dog! Of course it's important for the owner to learn what Ashley teaches so I recommend bringing a notepad to take notes since she had a lot to explain.
Ashley was excellent. My boys were very well cared for. She followed the instructions for medication to a T. Boys came home happy. Will definitely book with again.
Ashley is very communicative when watching our dog. A lot of helpful information she shares during the boarding. We will use her again in the future!
Prompt and took good care of two dogs during house drop in visits. She seems to really like our German shepherds.

SCHEDULE I provide private trainer-led care focused on structure, enrichment, behavioral reinforcement, and real-world manners — not standard daycare. Dogs in my program receive hands-on guidance, individualized attention, and consistent routines throughout the day in a calm, highly managed environment. SAFETY, TRUST & ENVIRONMENT Your dog’s safety, comfort, and structure come first. I intentionally keep my program limited-capacity so every dog receives close supervision and individualized attention. Dogs are either expected to already have structure and manners, or they are actively trained to develop them while under my care. I’m fully insured and based on a private 2-acre property in Westover, Stamford with secure outdoor space, structured walking routes, and a calm home environment.

A typical day
A TYPICAL DAY Each day includes structured walks, supervised outdoor time, enrichment, behavioral reinforcement, calm integration into household routines, and obstacle course work, where applicable. Dogs are worked with throughout the day on manners, structure, confidence building, and real-world behavior — not simply rotated through playgroups or kennels. Dogs may participate in fun, supervised socialization and training alongside other compatible dogs when appropriate.
