Pet care experience
Shelter Pro · Fear Free Trained
With 15+ years working in animal welfare and shelter environments, I bring professional-level care to every pet I work with; from neonatal fosters to senior dogs managing complex medical needs. I'm trained in fear-free handling and modern animal behavior, and I hold a degree in Humane Leadership focused on animal welfare. I can administer both oral and injected medications, which makes me a trusted choice for pets with diabetes, allergies, epilepsy, or ongoing medical protocols. I've cared for animals of every age, size, breed, and temperament — including high-energy large breeds, anxious rescues, and special needs animals who need a calm, patient, experienced hand. I've owned a husky and a pit bull for over a decade, and I've fostered countless kittens and puppies. I know what it means to care for an animal through every stage of life and I take that responsibility seriously with yours. When it comes to walks, I ask every owner one question: does your dog like to mosey, brisk walk, or run? Because every dog is different ; and your dog's walk should match their energy, not a one-size schedule. I offer all three, including runs and bike rides for high-drive dogs who need real exercise. At my home: large fenced yard, non-smoking, children who are calm and experienced with dogs, and a routine-first approach. I follow your pet's existing schedule for feeding, walks, and rest to keep their stay as stress-free as possible. Your pet deserves more than a dog lover. They deserve someone who actually knows animals.

Ashley was amazing. Pearl just loved her and the walks they did together. Thank you Ashley
Ashely was great with my dogs! Ones a senior dog who needs extra help and she handled him so well. She kept constant communication and my dogs looked so happy to be with her. Would definitely recommend her!
Ashley was super friendly and knowledgeable. My dogs liked her immediately. She wasn't worried about my sassy shepherd and didn't mind my senior cat's medications. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone.

Schedule
I keep my availability intentional so every pet gets my full attention. My primary availability is Fridays for walks, drop-ins, run and bike rides, and boarding check-ins, with weekends open for boarding stays. My sweet spot is a Friday afternoon check-in with Sunday morning checkout — perfect for families heading out for the weekend. I’m not available for weekday walks or drop-ins Monday through Thursday, which means when I’m with your pet, I’m fully present; not squeezing visits between a packed schedule. I also welcome extended stays of one week or longer. For families with travel, deployments, or extended commitments, I provide consistent long-term care that keeps your pet in one stable, familiar home rather than rotating through different sitters. I’ve cared for dogs for multi-week stays and understand what it takes to maintain routine, behavior, and wellbeing over time. If you’re looking for a reliable Friday walker, a consistent weekend boarding home, or a trusted sitter for an extended stay in Elk Grove, let’s connect!

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
My home has a large fully fenced yard, a non-smoking environment, and children aged 7-9 who are calm and experienced around animals. I apply the same fear-free handling principles I use professionally — no force, no flooding, no punishment. Pets are never left unsupervised in unsafe situations, and I always follow your pet’s existing routine to minimize stress. For in-home care I treat your space with the same respect and attentiveness I bring to my own. When I’m caring for your pet in your home, I stick to their usual routine as closely as possible. I’ll follow their schedule for feeding, playtime, and walks to keep things familiar and stress-free for them. Your pet’s comfort and happiness are my top priorities, whether they’re with me or in their own home.
A typical day
Every day starts with a check-in — how is your dog feeling today? Energy level guides the plan. We might mosey through the neighborhood letting them sniff everything in sight, take a brisk structured walk, or go for a full run if that’s their thing. High-drive dogs can join me on a bike ride. Back home we mix in mental enrichment — licky mats, puzzle feeders, and calm decompression time. Rest is part of the routine too. A well-cared-for dog isn’t just exercised — they’re balanced.
