Safety, trust & environment

Currently we have 5 female guinea pigs that are all in an enclosure in my sons room where its up on a high table and the bedroom door stays closed and then 6 completely indoor only cats, all nuetered chipped, and UTD on shots and 1 indoor/outdoor cat that adopted my family when he was left behind by his family/owners when they were evicted from one of the apartments in my building and they just decided to leave him behind but took their other cats. All 7 cats roam the house freely excpet going into my 2 sons rooms (one being the room with the guinea pigs and the other being a room that has too many poisious plants to cats in it and also no screens on the windows so they would get out, so that door stays closed as well). My SO and kids all love animals as well and they help take care of animals with me.

Information Ashley E. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know of any special needs, special training the pet are currently learning, and diet restrictions or requirements that may be important to know for proper caring of your pet. If they are allowed on furniture, sleep in bed with their owner, use a kennel, and how they do around small caged animals and cats.

A typical day

Lots of loves and attention. I love giving belly rubs and at night I give pup massages. Just to help the dog sleep a little better in case they might be experiencing some anxiety. Walks and potty breaks happen every 2 hours at the most. I try to do every hour just so they get lots of air and walking in and don't feel so cooped up but so also there isn't any accidents, though I do have hardwood floors so it makes it easy for clean up. I usually make sure its ok with the owner but sometimes forget to check about me being okay to offer chew bones like bully sticks or stew bones and then I always have treats and toys. I offer unsalted boiled fresh meats approprite for animals as treats too if the owners are ok with it. Or to add to their normal food.

Pets are family too!

Pet care experience

I've had family pets since I was about 6 years old. I've also had pets that were just mine to take care of. I've been around dogs, cats, reptiles, furry friends, birds, fish, everything from indoor to outdoor and from extreamely domesticated to still exotic. I love animals and believe that they should be treated just like any other family member. I don't think they should be caged up, or have food with held from them, I also don't think its right that after they are brought into a home there are people who just turn around and end up getting rid of the animal without properly thinking about the future of the animal. I think that people who abuse animals should be put through the same punishment they put said animal through and I think that there should be more help in communities geared towards families with animals to build pals/groups and seek help or resources if needed.

Our dog had an amazing time staying with Ashley while we were on vacation. She welcomed our dog in her house with her cats and she treated our dog like she were her own. The care and attention she gave were great!

Wow. Can’t say enough about Ashley and her care for our cat while we were out of town for an extended period of time. It was not a normal stay, as we had more than just pet care occurring at our home due to weather/power issues. Ashley made us feel relaxed and our cat feel safe without power for multiple days, going above and beyond any normal cat sitting expectations. Highly recommend Ashley!!

Our dog, Frannie, did not do well with Ashley. Ashley contacted us the morning after we dropped Frannie off to tell us that Frannie didn’t sleep all night, had peed inside multiple times, and wasn’t eating. Frannie has never had issues like that at a dog sitter’s house before. Frannie also did not get along with Ashley’s cats, even though we have a cat at home. We picked Frannie up early because I did not feel Ashley’s home was a safe and healthy place for her to be. I do appreciate that Ashley communicated with us and informed us of what was going on.
