I have three young dogs in my home, a mini aussie, a smooth collie, and a teddy roosevelt terrier. I am very comfortable caring for high-energy breeds and catering to both mental and physical stimulation needs. I also have a senior cat in my home, so I’m happy caring for the older, grumpy pets as well! I have previous experience in an emergency veterinary clinic setting, so I understand fractious and nervous animals.

I am available for pet care around the schedule of my full-time job. It does have some flexibility, but in general, my hours are 8am-4:30pm or 7:30am-4pm M-F. Weekends are fairly open. Please note: I am primarily available for drop-in visits, boarding, and walks, but I do have limited daycare availability in 2024/2025. ADDITIONAL BOARDING NOTE: Please note that dogs must be crate-trained or at least comfortable in a crate to board. Being in a new environment is stressful, so giving your pup a cozy, safe haven is my number one goal. Well-behaved animals will be allowed to sleep wherever they like, however, because I want them to feel at home. I have recently changed my boarding policy to dogs 40lbs and under, but returning clients need not worry, we are still accepting your larger pups! We may consider larger dogs of new clients if they are a good fit. We will only accept 1-2 families of dogs at a time. WALKING NOTE: I reserve the right to cancel a walk and use the time as a drop-in instead if there is inclement weather (heat advisories, wind chill advisories, etc.). HOUSESITTING NOTE: THIS SERVICE IS CURRENTLY INACTIVE. Housesitting is available through me Thursday-Sunday, no overnight stays Sunday-Wednesday. This service includes the overnight stay as well as 1-2 midday drop-ins (we will discuss your needs). If you are looking for anything additional, shoot me a message! The first two dogs are at the price of $75/night, more than 2 dogs adds $10/dog. Please be aware of this, I will adjust your price at the time of booking. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A SERVICE I DON'T APPEAR TO OFFER: please message me, I'll see how I can help!

Information Ashley B. would like to know about your pet
I have no breed preferences. Information I'd like to know about prior will be based on the service I'm providing, but questions I may ask: Is your pet crate-trained? Does your pet experience separation anxiety? Does your pet get car-sick (if I'm picking up or dropping off)? Does your pet experience leash and/or barrier reactivity? Does your pet resource guard? Does your pet have a history of incontinence, accidents, and/or marking? Does your pet pull on the leash? I will also need to know a current meal routine with times of meals, amounts, dietary restrictions, and known allergies. I will need to know about medications, when and how to administer.
A typical day
I love exploring all the parks and trails around here! I try to avoid the more "wild" parks during tick season, but sometimes, I just can't say no to a good hike. My dogs are walked every morning while it is cool, and occasionally in the evenings during the summer. Winter, we typically walk when I get off work. I love playing fetch and tug-of-war, but my dogs have more energy than I do and they LOVE every other dog they meet so they'll be more than happy to help me out. I'm also very familiar with multiple types of enrichment activities from sniff walks, to frozen kongs, to making meals more interesting with puzzle feeders and scatter feeding! I have plenty of enrichment toys around, so don't fret, my pups are happy to share.

Pet care experience
Hello! I have my BS in Animal Sciences and my MS in Veterinary Biomedical Sciences from KSU, which only goes to show my passion for animals of all shapes and sizes. Throughout my life, I’ve owned dogs, cats, mice, hamsters, fish, and guinea pigs (among other oddities, such as butterflies) so I’m ready to help you with the wide variety of animals in your life! I also have some horse, sheep, goat, pig, and cattle experience, but would certainly not call myself an expert. I do require a meet-and-greet prior to most bookings to make sure I am a good fit for your needs and pets. I know this is not required by all sitters, but I truly like to keep everything as normal as possible for your pets! I have experience caring for epileptic dogs and administering oral medications, so I am comfortable caring for special needs pets.
