Safety, trust & environment

I prefer taking care of pets in the comfort of their home. I am both dependable and reliable as a house/pet sitter or drop in.

Information Ashley B. would like to know about your pet

I understand that each pet has their own individual needs. Before I watch/walk your pet, I want to make sure that you and I are on the same page as far as routine and what is needed to make your pet feel comfortable and at ease.

A typical day

Let me know what your pets need and I will cater to that. Other than running or walking for over a mile, I can accommodate whatever your pet needs. I am patient and if your doggie needs me to throw the ball 100+ times, well then so be it. My cat sleeps on my chest and I will arrange myself so that she's comfortable. Even if that means I'll have back/neck pain the next day.

Pet care experience

I've had pets for as long as I can remember and I'm that person that will go out of my way to make sure an animal is happy and content. Family, friends and neighbors fully entrust me with the care and transport of their pets and can rest their minds because they know their pet is in good hands. I send texts, pics and any other updates of how their beloved furry family member is doing while they're away. One time I was watching my friend's senior cat while she was away. We lived in very rural Alaska at the time where the nearest vet was a 3 hour drive. He was fine for the first couple of days, then out of nowhere he became very lethargic. Low energy and wasn't eating. I noticed a rather large, soft lump on his head between his ears which I thought to be an abscess. I reached into my background as a medical assistant and decided to drain the fluid. Once I did, he jumped back to his old self... purrring, playing, eating. Yes, I know taking him to the vet is the best option, but sometimes you do what needs to be done. While I love both cats and dogs and am willing to care for both, the dog would have to be the right fit. Meaning, due to my injury, I'm not able to go on runs like I used to or long walks.

Ashley is the GREATEST, she’s dedicated, on time and will genuinely go above and beyond for your animals. She has a heart of gold and strength to match. We were leaving town for a week and needed a sitter, many didn’t fit our needs so we contacted her almost last minute and she made time to accept! We were concerned that our under socialized buffoons were going to eat her the moment we stepped out but they shocked us truly and all was well😂 She stayed with them 24/7, cared for them as in detail as we would, gave them all the lovings and attention they needed and made sure they knew we were coming back soon! She even took the time to tend to our elderly cat, our lunatic cat, and made a sweet connection with our shyest most skittish cat. She maintained amazing communication throughout her stay and our home was spotless when we returned! She is the BEST sitter you’ll find so if she has the time to sit for you, BOOK HER!!!

Whenever I would go on vacation, Ashley would care for my elderly cat. Although through the years he had grown more cantankerous with people in the house, he never had a problem with Ashley. He loved her and responded to her by curling up with her. She loved on him, cared for him, and spent time with him. One time in particular she went above and beyond. John Grady was lethargic and just not himself. After I left for vacation, Ashley let me know he had developed an abscess on the top of his head. She looked it over and kept an eye on it. One day the abscess drained. John Grady walked out of the bedroom with goo running down his forehead. Ashley scooped him up, cleaned him off, drained more of the abscess. She continued to do this until it cleared up. I was so grateful she was there for him.

Ashley has a genuine heart for animals and an extraordinary passion for their well-being. She loves pets deeply and consistently goes above and beyond to ensure they are happy, healthy, and feel truly cherished. Anyone who knows Ashley can see it instantly whenever she spots a dog, whether on a walk or through a window, her face lights up and she immediately wants to pet it and give it some love. She’ll even roll down her truck window at stoplights just to talk sweetly to dogs in nearby cars, and those little moments never fail to brighten her entire day. At home, her devotion is even clearer. She’s been known to give up her own bed and sleep on the couch just so her cat can feel extra loved and secure. And if she ever sees a lost dog along the road, she doesn’t hesitate she’ll pull her truck over right away, no matter what, to make sure the dog is safe and try to help it find its way home. Whether it’s providing attentive daily care, showering them with affection, or stepping in to protect those in need, Ashley’s compassion and dedication shine through in everything she does for the animals in her life.
