I'm willing to work with any dietary needs and/or restrictions your pet has and as I've given medications to my pets before I would be able to give your pet any if they needed it during my visit. I'm big into teaching my dogs how to be respectful on a walk so I would be willing to continue any on walk training you may have!

Information Ashley A. would like to know about your pet

I want to know anything and everything you can think of that has to do with your pet regardless of how small you may think it is.

A typical day

I enjoy watching dogs play while throwing them a ball or tugging on a rope with them. I also enjoy interacting with cats more than simply watching them. Of course, pets and snuggles are not optional.

Pet care experience

I've had pets my whole life, from birds, reptiles, and fish to dogs, cats and rodents, so I know my way around various pets and how to take care of them, as such any special needs won't be too far out of my expertise. When it comes to dogs I've taken two puppies of mine to training classes and am willing to work with whatever training you have in place with your dog, whether that is working on correcting behaviors like jumping or continuing to teach them certain tricks while you're away, I will try my best to make sure they stay on the right track! Cats are the kind of pet I've had for the longest and know the best, even though none of mine so far have been major trouble makers I know how fickle some can be. I'm not afraid to do the occasional litterbox clean if needed or to keep an eye on them during their occasional zoomies.

My cat seemed fine when I got home, but the experience overall wasn't ideal. I arrived home a bit early to find every single light in my house was left on and that the sitter moved the hide-a-key box from its place. I reached out in the morning to ask them where my house keys were and let them know I needed the keys to get into my house. It took a few hours for them to acknowledge that they had taken them (it was early, fine) and I asked if I could arrange to get the keys sometime that day. I even offered to pick them up since it had snowed the day before and they said they were snowed in. Even with several messages prompting a response, they did not respond for another EIGHT HOURS during which time they knew my dog and I were locked out of my house. While I guess it's on me that I didn't have a another set of keys (I left a spare set with a neighbor who wasn't at home), it has never been my expectation that the sitter take a hide-a-key and it is certainly my expectation that they communicate with me promptly in the case of an emergency.

Ashley has had about 4 drop in visits with my pets and I am pleased with how it’s gone! Very attentive and caring.

Very positive experience with Ashley. She was available short notice and took very good care of my two pups. Our younger is a bit anxious and warmed up to Ashley quickly!

Ashley gave my dog 22 doses of medication in 2 days. It directly caused excessive diarrhea that destroyed my floors, got liquid diarrhea down a vent and in the ductwork. the dog destroyed his kennel, a door and a frame to get out so that he wouldn’t have to “go” where he sleeps. Ashley provided zero pictures, videos or updates and was gone, leaving the dogs unattended more often then not for 4 days.
