Hi there! My name is Ashley. I’m a 30 year old Santa Barbara local, UCSB alumni, and recently graduated Physician Assistant waiting to receive my licensure. I’m an animal lover and have had many dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, + more! I have been dog sitting on and off for the past 10 years. I have experience with both small dogs and large as well as puppies to senior doggies. I have experience training basic commands and I’m not afraid to clean up a mess. I prefer to be outdoors and would love to take your pups on hikes, the beach, or a mellow walk around the block! I have my own transportation and have a flexible schedule. I am also open to helping around with other chores/errands as needed. Thanks for considering me as your pet sitter!

Ashley did a great job - my cats seemed comfortable with her, and she sent thorough updates at each visit.
While the pet sitter did take care of my cat and my cat’s basic needs were met, I was disappointed by several aspects of the experience. I have a camera in my home that allows me to check in on my cat while I’m away. During one of my check-ins, I noticed that a cabinet I normally keep closed had been left open. Because this stood out to me, I went back through the footage to understand why it had been opened. After reviewing the footage, I noticed that several tasks I had specifically requested were not being fully completed, despite updates indicating that they had been done. I had provided detailed written instructions and even placed sticky notes on the cabinets to clearly indicate where everything was located, so there should not have been confusion about expectations or where supplies could be found. I also observed that check-ins appeared to be marked as started before the sitter had actually arrived at my home. What was particularly concerning to me was that after I mentioned having a camera and asked that the cabinet be closed, I noticed a significant change in behavior, and the instructions then began to be followed as requested. I understand that mistakes can happen, and I appreciate that my cat was cared for. However, consistency, honesty, and following the agreed-upon care instructions are very important to me when entrusting someone with my pet and access to my home. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling a little uncomfortable and disappointed.

I will be working/studying from home and can check up on your pets frequently throughout the day, any day of the week, just let me know your preferences.
