House Sitting • oct. 25, 2025

Ashley sat with my 3 precious pups for 9 days while I was away. We communicated daily while I was away and she sent some photos. However, I was extremely disappointed when I returned home. Not only was my house quite messy from her and I believe her partner who also stayed over, there was dog poop in my bedroom. My dogs are extremely well house trained. Finding this accident in the house tells me one of them was absolutely desperate because they were not taken out. I have strong reason to believe the dogs were not taken on their daily walks either and instead just let out in the back yard. My kitchen was a mess and there were food stains on my sofa. There was a McDonalds receipt on my garage floor for an order placed at 1:36am for enough food that would have fed multiple people. I don't know if more than just she and her partner stayed at the house. Worth noting I did not give permission for the partner to stay at the house. This experience left me feeling anxious about leaving my pups again. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Ashley.

I had spoken to a lot of Ashley’s references ,and they were excellent. The first time she stayed with my Henry, I was very pleased. Ashley took care of my puppy for 3 weeks when I was in Europe, and I thought she hung the moon. She did a great job. But then Ashley got a waitressing job, she started sending me pics of my dog when she wasn't even at my house. I spoke to her about how misleading this was. She said that it was no problem getting off of work when she watched Henry. She didn't lie when I asked if she was home. But said she was picking up her sister and doing errands that weren't a part of our agreement. She wasn't supposed to keep Henry in the crate for more than 3 hours a day. I hired Ashley again, thinking she got the message, and I believed she cared for my Henry. But this time I found out that Henry was being crated for much longer. I texted Ashley and she told me she was home at my house. I asked her what time she got back. She said 1:00 pm. I knew she hadn't been back because my cleaning people came that day and told me. I asked her if she was sure it was 1:00. Then she said she was sure it was by 2:00. But I sent a neighbor with my key to check, and she wasn't there at 2:00 pm, like she said. By 3:00pm I asked my housekeeper who had a key to please go check on my dog. Henry was still in his crate and Ashley had lied about being home with my dog. She left him crated the entire time. He's still a puppy and needs to be let out. He's also not used to being alone for more than a few hours. This was the major point of my arrangement in hiring Ashley was because she said she would never leave him more than 3 hours. She didn't call to let me know she couldn't be there, so I could have had someone come over. I told her if she ever had a problem to call me, and I’d get someone to come over. But instead Ashley lied over and over. I tried to face time Ashley, and she didn't reply. I finally texted Ashley and terminated her stay and asked her to return my key and garage door opener which she did, without one word of an explanation. I was saved by my housekeeper who loves Henry. Ashley had gained my trust and then neglected my puppy. I sent Rover the screenshots of our conversations and Rover handled it well. DON’T HIRE Ashley, she has no qualms about lying. Breaking someone’s trust when you’re in the care of their beloved pet is the worst.

Ashley did such a great job looking after our two pups! We loved getting the updates after each visit with pictures too. It made our time away from home much better knowing that our pups were in great hands while we were away. I would recommend Ashley to anyone seeking to provide care to their pets while they are away and will definitely book her again!

Schedule

House Sitting/Drop In: I am very respectful of your home, before your return I do a clean and tidy up, as well as continually cleaning after myself during my stay. I bring mail inside daily, as well as any packages on the porch, if you let me know what day is garbage day I will bring your garbage out so you aren’t returning home to full bins and helps keep up appearances that someone is home. Typically I will send you an update or pics morning, noon, and night so you can be assured your pet is doing well. Boarding: I have a house with wooden floors throughout, a large fenced in backyard and close distance to a dog park. All dogs in my home are separated for feedings and are only given approved treats and toys. If I ever need to leave the house to run an errand then all pets are kenneled while I am not there to supervise. I send pictures and updates multiple times a day so you can be assured your pet is happy, healthy and cared for!

Whatever they like to do! If they have lots of energy I like to do some basic training and then have a play break with games like tug or fetch and then help settle down with a walk with lots of stops for sniffs.
