I am a professional marathon runner and run my own nonprofit animal rescue, so aside from my early morning training runs, I am home throughout the day and fully involved with the dogs in my care. Spending time with dogs and caring for them is truly my passion outside of running. Because I’m very active and hands-on, dogs in my care receive plenty of engagement, playtime, outdoor time, walks, and attention throughout the day. I love playing with them, running around outside with them, and taking walks on the trails in my neighborhood based on each dog’s energy level and needs. My rescue is foster-based, so most of my rescue work is coordinated virtually through fosters and volunteers, which allows me to maintain a consistent daily presence at home with the dogs.

Information Ashlee P. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know about your dog’s temperament, energy level, and how they typically interact with other dogs. I also like to know their daily routine, any training they’ve had, and whether they’re comfortable being in a social environment. Please share any medical needs, medications, allergies, or behavioral considerations so I can provide the best care possible. For safety, all dogs should be up to date on vaccinations and comfortable in a home setting.
A typical day
Each day is thoughtfully structured to balance exercise, play, and rest so dogs feel calm, happy, and well cared for. Morning: Potty break, breakfast, and a walk or outdoor time to start the day. Midday: Supervised play in the yard followed by rest and downtime indoors. I also include enrichment like puzzle toys or treats. Afternoon: Additional play, walks, or light training depending on each dog’s energy level. Evening: Dinner, a relaxed wind-down, and quiet time before bed. I tailor each day to the individual dog—whether they’re active, social, or prefer a calmer pace.

Pet care experience
$20 OFF FIRST BOOKING. CODE: PLANTB19283 Every guest is fitted with an AirTag during their stay for added safety and peace of mind. I’ve been caring for dogs for most of my life. I grew up with dogs from infancy, and my first dog was a German Shepherd named Pooch who joined our family when I was still a baby. We grew up together, and he remained my best friend until we were both 14, when he crossed the rainbow bridge. Dogs have been a huge part of my life ever since. At 12 years old, I started my own dog walking business and volunteered with local rescues before eventually founding my own nonprofit, Akira Animal Rescue, which focuses on medical dogs and puppies. Growing up, I also cared for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments — including a rescued street dog, a Pomeranian mix, and a Lhasa Apso. Having both large and small dogs throughout my life helped me understand different energy levels, personalities, and care needs from an early age. I also have extensive medical experience with dogs through both rescue work and personal experience. My senior dog Akira developed liver disease and seizures later in life, and I helped manage his care and medications until he peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge in 2024. Akira inspired my rescue work and deepened my understanding of anxious, reactive, and medically sensitive dogs. When I met him at 7 years old, he struggled with resource guarding and trust issues, but over time he transformed into a calm, loving dog who slept at our feet every night. In December 2023, we adopted two Siberian Husky littermates who are incredibly social, gentle, and loving with other dogs — especially smaller dogs. I also currently have two sweet foster dogs from my rescue who have been in my care long term. They are the only dogs from my rescue in my home — all others are with other fosters. I now provide full-time premium daycare and boarding from my home in Beverly Hills Post Office on a private, gated one-acre property. I previously operated exclusively through referrals and word-of-mouth and am now offering services through Rover. I’m extremely hands-on, attentive, and always present with the dogs in my care. I structure playgroups carefully and can separate dogs based on size, temperament, energy level, or owner preference. Don’t be surprised if your dog learns a new command or trick during their stay. What your dog can expect: • Airtag fitted upon arrival and through duration of care • Supervised play and structured daily routines • 5,000 sq ft indoor space plus large outdoor areas to relax and socialize • Walks and enrichment tailored to your dog’s energy level and personality Why clients choose me: • Unique private property in the city • Experience with all breeds, sizes, and temperaments • Calm, safe, structured environment • Extensive rescue and medical care experience We also have access to additional private space in the Hollywood Hills. Every booking helps support my rescue work ❤️
Reviews
JUST. WOW. There is no other experience like Ashlee’s boarding and doggy daycare. A mutual friend connected us and shared Ashlee was interested in becoming a full-time dog-sitter/walker. I decided, why not give her a chance. Ashlee has two sprawling properties: One in the Hollywood Hills, another in Beverly Hills with an ACRE! I have been fortunate to have my dogs experience both. I don’t have much of a yard, but Ashlee’s homes make up for the lack of space. Ashlee is very hands-on, provides access to several cameras on her property, and gives my dogs grade-A quality care. I highly recommend her for any and all your pet needs!
I am always at ease knowing my baby is in good hands. Ashlee truly loves caring for my dog. I met her on a walk with her adorable huskies and we became acquainted. One day I needed a last minute dog sitter and Ashlee offered to help me. She treated Bear as if he were her own! I now use her regularly, she even will pick him up for walks on days I can’t take him myself
