Hollywood Hills Doggy Compound

Dogs have been part of my life since I was an infant. My first dog, Pooch, was a German Shepherd who joined our family when I was a baby. We grew up together and were best friends until we were both 14, when he crossed the rainbow bridge. Dogs have been my constant companions ever since. By 12, I had started my own neighborhood dog-walking business and was volunteering with local animal rescues. Years later, that passion led me to found Akira Animal Rescue, my foster-based nonprofit specializing in medical dogs and puppies. My experience spans dogs of virtually every size and stage of life — from tiny companion breeds and young puppies to German Shepherds, Siberian Huskies, seniors, and dogs with medical or behavioral needs. Growing up, I also cared for a rescued street dog, a Pomeranian mix, and a Lhasa Apso. Today, I have four dogs of my own, so understanding different personalities, energy levels, boundaries, and needs is simply part of my everyday life. One of my greatest teachers was my senior dog, Akira. When I came into his life at 7, he had experienced a difficult start in life and struggled with trust and resource guarding. With patience, consistency, and structure, he became an incredibly secure and loving dog. Later in life, he developed liver disease and seizures, and I helped manage his medications and medical care until he crossed the rainbow bridge in 2024. He ultimately inspired me to start Akira Animal Rescue. A different kind of Rover stay 🐾 I provide full-time premium daycare and boarding from a private, gated, multi-level compound in the Hollywood Hills. The property gives me something I consider incredibly important in dog care: space, flexibility, and the ability to individualize each dog’s stay. Although I have four dogs of my own, they do not need to reside at the boarding property and can stay at our other home nearby. This means your dog is never expected to simply fit into an established pack. I can make decisions about socialization and playmates based on your dog’s personality, size, energy level, and comfort. I don’t believe every dog needs the same experience. Social dogs may enjoy carefully supervised play with compatible friends, while shy, senior, small, or more independent dogs can have their own space and individual attention. The property allows me to create smaller playgroups and use separate indoor and outdoor areas rather than putting every dog together. New arrivals are also given time to settle in and decompress. Introductions are gradual and based on body language and comfort rather than immediately placing a new dog into a group. I am extremely hands-on and attentive with the dogs in my care. I supervise interactions, learn each dog’s individual personality, reinforce good manners, and tailor walks, play, enrichment, affection, and downtime to the dog in front of me. Don’t be surprised if your dog picks up a new command or trick while they’re here! What your dog can expect: • An AirTag fitted upon arrival and worn throughout their stay • A thoughtful decompression and introduction period • Supervised play and a structured daily routine • Spacious, dog-friendly indoor and outdoor areas • Separate play yards and smaller, compatible playgroups • Walks and enrichment tailored to their energy level and personality • Plenty of individual attention, affection, and downtime • Care from someone experienced with puppies, seniors, medications, medical needs, and a wide range of temperaments My goal is to offer something different from a traditional boarding facility. I want dogs to have the comfort and individual attention of staying in a home, with the space and flexibility to create an experience around their needs. Every booking also helps support the work of Akira Animal Rescue. ❤️

Best boarding experience my pup has ever had! He’s not exactly the easiest boy to handle given how energetic he is, but after our initial meet and greet with Ashlee I had 0 concerns. She told me about the dog rescue organization she created so she definitely will give your pup the care and attention they need. She also took my dog on pack walks and long hikes around Runyon Canyon! She has so much space on her fenced off property and the sweetest dogs of her own that all played well with my pup and helped keep him busy! I genuinely believe he had a better time than I did while I was away. He came home cuddly and so tired so I know he had a blast! Would recommend her to all of my friends and everyone else reading this

JUST. WOW. There is no other experience like Ashlee’s boarding and doggy daycare. A mutual friend connected us and shared Ashlee was interested in becoming a full-time dog-sitter/walker. I decided, why not give her a chance. Ashlee has two sprawling properties: One in the Hollywood Hills, another in Beverly Hills with an ACRE! I have been fortunate to have my dogs experience both. I don’t have much of a yard, but Ashlee’s homes make up for the lack of space. Ashlee is very hands-on, provides access to several cameras on her property, and gives my dogs grade-A quality care. I highly recommend her for any and all your pet needs!

I am always at ease knowing my baby is in good hands. Ashlee truly loves caring for my dog. I met her on a walk with her adorable huskies and we became acquainted. One day I needed a last minute dog sitter and Ashlee offered to help me. She treated Bear as if he were her own! I now use her regularly, she even will pick him up for walks on days I can’t take him myself

Schedule

I am fully dedicated to caring for dogs. Pet Care is my job, so you will have a hands on, attentive caregiver for your fur child. Outside of Pet Care, I am a professional marathon runner and do my runs early in the morning or on my treadmill at home. I am a complete homebody and choose to stay home with dogs, or take them out for a hike.

Safety, trust & environment

Every dog in my care is equipped with an AirTag for enhanced safety and real-time location protection while on property or during outings. I provide a calm, structured environment on a private, gated property with secure outdoor space, including separate, gated, play yards, and comfortable indoor areas for rest and relaxation. Dogs are supervised at all times and thoughtfully grouped based on size, temperament, and energy level. I also offer private or solo care for dogs who prefer a quieter setting.

A typical day

Each day is thoughtfully structured to balance exercise, play, and rest so dogs feel calm, happy, and well cared for. Morning: Potty break, breakfast, and a walk or outdoor time to start the day. Midday: Supervised play in the yard followed by rest and downtime indoors. I also include enrichment like puzzle toys or treats. Afternoon: Additional play, walks, or light training depending on each dog’s energy level. Evening: Dinner, a relaxed wind-down, and quiet time before bed. I tailor each day to the individual dog—whether they’re active, social, or prefer a calmer pace. Please note: First day of daycare or boarding can be stressful for a dog whether they show it or not. All first time guests will decompress the first 24 hours. This means more 1-on-1 time with me, resting, and allowing them to adjust to their new environment.

Please let me know about your dog’s temperament, energy level, and how they typically interact with other dogs. I also like to know their daily routine, any training they’ve had, and whether they’re comfortable being in a social environment. Please share any medical needs, medications, allergies, or behavioral considerations so I can provide the best care possible. For safety, all dogs should be up to date on vaccinations and comfortable in a home setting.
