I hate leaving less than positive reviews, but I have to be honest about my experience, as I utilize these when choosing my sitters as well. My animals were safe, which is the bottom line, but I was worried for much of the time I was away. I received very few updates or pictures of the animals, while there were frequent requests for things during the stay. I often felt like I wasn’t getting the full picture of what was happening in my home. When I returned, I found dried feces covering about half of my turf yard, which took me 45+ minutes to clean, three vomit spots in my bedroom, a burned pan, and a toilet spraying water. None of these things were communicated to me. There were also some things regarding the use of my home that left me uncomfortable. I understand accidents happen, but I expected better communication, honesty, and overall care, especially given the cost. I’ve had better experiences with other Rover sitters and unfortunately would not book again. On a positive note, she was very nice and genuinely wanted to be helpful. I just don’t think my home and animals were the right fit for her.

Ashlee took such good care of our big baby and our home! With bad weather and extended stay, both were in good hands! We are so appreciative of her care and attention. Going to try to book her right now for our next trip in a few weeks!

Ashlee was very loving towards my cat and left my apartment better than it was before.

I HIGHLY recommend Ashlee as a amazing pet sitter. She gave so much care and compassion for my very spoiled furr babies. My babies have different temperments and Ashlee definitely was up to the task. WE appreciate you Ashlee and look forward to our next booking!!! :-)

My partner has a large collection of candles and we came home to NINETEEN candles (4 one-wick, 15 three-wick) that had been burned at least once. 3 of which were her favorite decorative candles that were completely burned through (one hadn’t even been lit yet). At least 4 of the 19 had never been lit before and 3 of them are completely empty. Out of the total 19 candles, only FIVE candles are salvageable that have >4hr burn left. This is extremely frustrating and disrespectful, as these candles have personal sentiment AND cost a lot of money (at least $200 worth of candles burned through/ruined). Importantly, to burn through all these three-wick candles in about 2 weeks, they had to be continuously burning (confirmed by the amount of soot coating the candles and even a melting candle label), which is concerning for the health of our animals and safety of our home. Furthermore, for the first time since living in our apartment, we heard our air conditioning units struggling to intake air, only to find completely black air filters. We replace the air filters often because our animals shed, and we have NEVER seen black air filters like this, let alone after only 2 months of use. We also had to explain multiple times that the front door needed to be locked whenever Ashlee left the house and the point wasn’t really understood until we had to send over a video of our front door camera showing her not locking the door when she took our dog out on a walk. Additionally, even though we gave a pretty flexible schedule of just feeding our dog and cat in the morning, then walk our dog Rocky (and do the same in the evening), the times were erratic with him getting walks at all hours of the day (ie. “morning walk” at 1pm, “evening walk” at 3am; next day walks at 12pm, 4pm, 12am, 4am), which left us wondering when exactly our pets were getting fed especially given the odd walking times. Sometimes it felt like Ashlee just takes these home watching jobs so she can chill at someone’s house and play video games with her boyfriend (which we got to see a lot of him staying over most of the time and watching our dog in our small yard rather than going on walks when he doesn’t like to use the yard). To her credit, Ashlee did get into a better walking schedule in the last half of her stay and she did clean the sheets and a few other things before leaving, but I would’ve preferred to come home and do some extra laundry than lose out on all these candles and be worried during a good amount of the trip wondering if things were ok here at home. Leaving a 3 star review because our dog Rocky and our cat Lil made it through the days we were gone, so at least the bare minimum of keeping our pets stable was achieved, but unfortunately will definitely be looking elsewhere next time. We feel like our flexibility was taken completely advantage of, so we want to make sure that others in the future know that you will need to set some strict boundaries with Ashlee in the future.

Ashlee is a wonderful pet sitter! She is highly communicative and was very attentive to the cats' needs. My cats seemed happy and at ease when I returned. Would def go back to her next time I need a sitter:) Thanks Ashlee!
