I struggled whether to tell my horror story but decided that potential clients need to know my experience so that would happen to me doesn’t happen to them …I’m only giving her one star because I came home to my dogs at least being alive, but this was the worst Rover House Sitting experience I’ve ever encountered… I have been a 5 Star Rover Sitter for over 13 years with an impeccable reputation and based on my experience with Ashlee and her unprofessionalism, she doesn’t deserve to be affiliated with the Rover name. The only reason I chose her over other sitters was because she was a Star Sitter (which has little to no meaning if you can receive that status with only 5 reviews) when I myself have over 190 5 star reviews. I had a family emergency, which required me to have to leave town immediately and I was in need of a In House Sitter ( where they stay at your home and care for your fur babies) so I turned to Rover who I work for… I interviewed several Rover Sitter’s and only chose Ashlee only because of her “Star Sitter status”. I’m going condense all the things she did wrong rather than elaborate. -the biggest offense was she was not at my home over 50% of the time leaving my 4 dogs to fend for themselves with no potty breaks or feeding done according to the schedule, and then she would lie and say she was there when she wasn’t when I have cameras inside and outside my home so I can see when you’re coming and going.. in fact one day she left around 4 pm and did not return until 11 AM the next day missing numerous feedings and potty breaks creating quite a mess for her -she did not follow any of my feeding instructions or potty break instructions because she wasn’t here -When she was there, she had her boyfriend there in my home when I advised her that he was not welcome in my home because it wasn’t professional -I didn’t discover that Ashlee did not drive, which is why the Boyfriend has to be around -Ashlee filled in for me for a customer (in my neighborhood ) for 4 drop in visits remaining and she was extremely late for each visit and didn’t seem to care. - After I had left, she asked if the boyfriend could stay with her at my house because she doesn’t drive and he has to take her to the drop-in visits that she was covering for me so I agreed that one night he could stay but had to go the next day since she would be done filling in for me the next day with the drop in visits . One morning I literally had to wake her up one morning to ask her if she was gonna go and tend to a drop in visit and my doggies who also needed to be let out to potty and fed -on the day I was to return she was supposed to be at my home till 6 PM… I got back in town at 4pm and she did not arrive at my house till 6 PM after being gone all morning and day I could go on and on, but you get the picture I’m sure… I really thought I could be like a big sister mentor to this young lady, but I discovered she’s not responsible, honest nor does she keep to her word. She left things at my home. It was supposed to return the next day to get them and was a no-show.
