Hi, I’m Asher and I use he/him pronouns:) I got my Bachelors degree in Comprehensive Special Education from SCSU in May 2024. However, over the past few years I’ve decided to pursue a bit of a different path. This fall I started a dog training program to pursue my dream of becoming a dog trainer. I am looking forward to furthering my knowledge on dogs so that I can improve the level of care I can provide to my clients:) Not only do I have a passion for working with individuals with disabilities but I also love animals. There’s never been a time in my life where my house wasn’t full of a bunch of pets:) I’ve grown up with a variety of pets from a yellow Labrador Retriever to ferrets, parakeets, hamsters, rats, cats, guinea pigs and so on. I have a lot of experience caring for pets of all shapes and sizes. I also have experience with dogs of all ages from 8 week old puppies to seniors. Sadly, my yellow Labrador Retriever Zeke passed away in March 2024 so I no longer have any pups living with my mom and I. However, my dad and I co-own a 2 year old retriever mix who I will include in a lot of my adventures with my clients. I started pet sitting and dog walking when I was 10 years old and have been doing so for family and friends ever since. I live on 7 acres of farm land so your furry friends would have lots of space to play outside and scents to sniff. Zeke was trained to stay on the property, despite it not being fenced in. However, I understand that a lot of pups won’t be able to understand these boundaries and will need to be leashed when out in the yard. Therefore, depending on your dog’s needs I will keep your furry friend on a leash (or off leash if applicable) so they stay safe but also have the sense of freedom and independence when outside. We go on lots of neighborhood walks, hiking adventures, and visits to the dog park (during quiet times) as well as spending time outside in the yard. We typically do two walks and one visit to the dog park daily in addition to potty breaks every 3-4 hours in the yard.

This was the second year in a row that Asher took care of Tyson on Thanksgiving. Asher goes above and beyond to not only take such good care, but also to provide such a good time for his furry guests.

I just went on a work trip and Asher stayed with Montana for the first time and I can't rave more about how Asher was with my lab Montana!!! He was phenomenal with her and not one thing was off w montana and in fact she's better than ever being 12 years old!! He is exceptional with my dog and this is the first time in 12 years that I was not worried for one minute being away!! A true pleasure and so neat and on the ball! go Asher!!!! we love you!! Asher was absolutely amazing and he treated our girls stellar. Will definitely use him again to watch our pups. Constant and appreciated contact with a ton of great pictures.
Asher was phenomenal with updates and made sure I knew how Bailey was feeling each day!

Schedule
Petsitting is my full time job so my availability is wide open. I am very flexible and am willing to work with other families’ needs and schedules to provide the best care for their pets:)

I have one friendly dog at home who is a senior but he loves to keep his furry friends company. I will keep the dogs leashed in my yard/ when necessary in their yards or let them play in a fenced in area. I will also use a crate if needed. I will do whatever is appropriate for the dog depending on their specific needs.
A typical day
I am a very active person and will do a lot of activities with the dogs I care for. I value spending a lot of time outside, especially when the weather is nice. I will take them on neighborhood walks, hikes back in Indian ledge park and other trails in Trumbull and bordering towns, the dog park, play with toys in the yard, go to dog events, etc.
