Hi there, my name is Arispa and I would love to meet you and your furry friends! My love for dogs started around 4 years ago when I began dog sitting for my college friends. My partner and I began the search for our own canine companion around 2 years ago, a time during which we would visit the local shelters and rescues nearly every week. We finally found our perfect pup a little over a year ago and he came in the form of a tiny, crazy, adorable mini Australian Shepherd. We raised our boy, Toddy, from a pup and I immediately dove head first into everything dog. I watched videos, signed us up for classes and did everything I could to ensure our delightful guy would have everything he needed to set him up for success. Through attending training classes and doing a lot of homework, I ended up finding my stride with my best friend and today he is an incredibly well-adjusted, well-trained, friendly pup. In the last year I decided to extend my dog experience by becoming an Adoption Counselor at the Bloomington animal shelter. I have learned so much through the experience including how to interact with dogs who may not have had all of the love and support that my dog did. I delight in interacting weekly with the rescue pups and helping find them their perfect homes. If you decide to book with me, here are some things you can expect: - I will treat owner and canine with the utmost respect. If you have specific training protocols or doggy rules, I am happy to abide by them and ensure consistency for your friend! - On dog walks I would LOVE for your dog to meet my pup, Toddy, but if you or your pup would prefer alone time it's no problem at all. - As someone who works within our local rescue scene, I can assure you that I am well trained in handling dogs of diverse backgrounds, temperaments, and sizes. Got a jolly tripod who loves to run? I'd love to take them for a jog. Maybe a sheperd who lives for work? I'm happy to run them through their lessons. - I am also happy to do drop in visits for cats, rabbits, rats or any other smaller critters needing care. I have a lot of experience with small animals and am often looked to as the on-staff rabbit whisperee at the shelter. - Expect photos! If you want them, I love taking photos of pets and I love updating owners with pictures of their pets enjoying my care.
