I’ve been caring for both dogs and cats for many years, as a longtime pet owner and former veterinary technician. I raised my own dog from puppyhood through her senior years, and I also have experience caring for cats in my own home, so I understand that dogs and cats often need very different types of attention and interaction. As a former veterinary technician, I gained hands-on experience with animal handling, basic medical care, monitoring pets, and recognizing changes in behavior or condition. I’m comfortable with pets of different ages, personalities, and energy levels, including shy or cautious animals who may need extra time to feel comfortable. I’m an active person who loves walking, hiking, and spending time outdoors with dogs, but I also really enjoy the quieter side of caring for cats—playtime, feeding, litter box care, brushing, and simply giving them company on their own terms. I know how stressful it can be to leave your pets with someone else, so I’ll treat them with the same patience and care I give my own pets. Schedule
I currently work part-time three days a week, which gives me plenty of flexibility to care for pets. I’m especially available on my days off and can dedicate plenty of time to walks, playtime, feeding, potty breaks, and lots of attention. I’m also happy to follow your pet’s usual routine as closely as possible so they feel comfortable while you’re away. If our schedules align, I’m always happy to welcome your furbabies for boarding as well!

I have years of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats, including previous experience working as a veterinary technician. I’ve also invested in professional training for my own dog, including off-leash and obedience training, so I’m very comfortable with dog handling, leash skills, reading body language, and safely managing different behaviors and personalities. I’m happy to tailor each visit to your pet’s individual needs, whether that means going for a walk, playing and getting some energy out, or simply spending time with them and keeping them company. Because of my veterinary background, I’m also comfortable caring for pets who take medications, including administering tablets and liquid medications as directed. I’m familiar with monitoring basic vital signs and recognizing concerning changes in a pet’s behavior or condition that may need prompt attention. Safety is always my priority, and I will carefully follow each owner’s instructions, routine, feeding schedule, and any special care needs. I’ll also send plenty of photo updates so you can feel reassured that your pet is happy, comfortable, and safe while in my care.

A typical day
Every pet is different, so I’ll tailor our time together based on what you and your pet prefer! If you’d like your dog to go for a walk, I’m happy to take them around the neighborhood. If they only need a quick potty break, we can spend the rest of our time playing with their favorite toys, getting some energy out, or just relaxing and cuddling together. I’m happy to follow whatever routine your pet is most comfortable with, whether that includes walks, playtime, feeding, potty breaks, basic training, or simply keeping them company. For cats, I understand that every cat has a different personality. Some may want lots of playtime and attention, while others prefer their own space, so I’ll always let them interact at their own comfort level. Just let me know what your pet loves and what you’d like me to do during each visit, and I’ll make sure they get plenty of attention and care while you’re away!

- Before caring for your pet, I’d love to know a little about their personality, daily routine, and anything that helps them feel comfortable and safe. Please let me know about any medical conditions, medications, allergies, dietary restrictions, or special needs. For dogs, it’s also helpful to know how they typically behave on walks, whether they are comfortable around other dogs and people, and if there are any triggers or behaviors I should be aware of. Please also let me know if your pet is up to date on their vaccinations. For the safety of all pets in my care, I may ask for a copy of their vaccination records when appropriate. Most importantly, I’d love to know their likes and dislikes, favorite toys or activities, and any little quirks they may have. The more I know about your pet, the better I can make their time with me safe, comfortable, and enjoyable!
