As a full-time Diagnostic Medical Sonography student, my weekdays are fully focused on school. However, I have Fridays available after 2 PM and am fully available on Saturdays and Sundays. That means I can dedicate my weekends to providing attentive, loving pet care, whether that’s dog walking, drop-in visits, or overnight sitting. Since I’m not juggling work during the week, I treat pet care as my weekend job and always show up with energy and focus.

When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always respect their space and follow any instructions closely. I make sure pets stay on their usual schedule for meals, walks, and playtime to reduce stress and keep them comfortable. I take safety seriously, doors stay locked, leashes are checked for security, and I never leave a pet unsupervised outdoors. I also believe trust is earned. I give regular updates (photos, messages) so pet parents know their fur baby is happy and safe. I treat every home and animal like my own, with care, responsibility, and love.

Before caring for a pet, I like to know as much as possible to make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for. It’s helpful to know their daily routine, feeding schedule, and any medical needs or medications. I also like to ask about their behavior, how they react to strangers, other animals, or being alone, so I can adjust to their comfort level. If they have any special quirks, fears, or favorite toys, I’m all ears! The more I know, the better I can provide care that feels familiar and comforting to them.
A typical day
A typical day with your pet includes plenty of love, play, and personalized attention! For dogs, I love starting with a walk or some backyard play to get their energy out. Throughout the day, I’ll make sure they get bathroom breaks, belly rubs, treats (if allowed!), and quiet time to rest. I tailor each day to the pet’s needs, whether that’s playing fetch, tug-of-war, or simply keeping them company while they nap. If I’m doing a drop-in or walk, I make sure to keep the visit fun and safe while also checking their water, cleaning up any messes, and making sure they feel seen and cared for. For overnight stays, I stick to their normal routine, meal times, walks, meds (if needed), and bedtime rituals, so they feel as comfortable as possible in their own home.

As a Diagnostic Medical Sonography student, I’m detail oriented and show dependable qualities that carry over into how I care for pets. Whether it’s giving medication, following feeding routines, or offering extra snuggles, I’m committed to making sure each pet feels comfortable and loved while their owner is away. I’m also great at communicating, so pet parents always know how their furry friend is doing with photo updates and messages.
