Pet care experience

Barn to Backyard: Pro Pet Care

I grew up with a wild variety of animals and I became a professional athlete and horse trainer, then transitioned into veterinary medicine with a focus on sports therapy and rehabilitation. Now I’ve gone full circle back to using my finance degree plus coaching experience, doing wealth management. ⸻ **ADDITIONAL PRICING POLICIES ** * I apply “Puppy Rates” to any dogs still in potty training or seniors with incontinence. If your dog sleeps through the night, isn’t destructive, and doesn’t need constant let-outs, I’m happy to charge the regular adult rate. * Drop-In & Walk rates ONLY cover the time spent with your pet. * A TRAVEL FEE of $1.50 per mile round trip applies beyond the first 5 miles to cover fuel, time, and vehicle wear. * This same travel fee applies for pick-ups or drop-offs if requested. (Travel is calculated using the shortest route via Google Maps.) * Please book a MEET & WEEK as a standard Drop-In Visit. This allows for more productive scheduling and efficient use of my time. * DAYCARE IN YOUR HOME ONLY — if you want me to come stay with your pet/s for more than 2 hours, I’m willing to book it at the Daycare rate. The travel fee will also apply.

Ardelle was very professional and seemed very competent. We just had a meet and greet with her and definitely are looking forward to using her in the future for pet sitting.

We so appreciate having someone that we can count on to be there for our pups when we can’t. Thank you, Ardelle!

Schedule

Availability & Schedule: I guarantee plenty of exercise and enrichment! I have a hybrid job where most Tuesdays (some Wednesdays and Thursdays) I’m in the Bellevue office half the day, and occasionally for other meetings, but the majority is remote work. This is a part-time side gig for me, so I don’t accept recurring bookings and only schedule in the near future. My primary goal is to stay active while offering high-quality, last-minute or emergency pet care, especially for pets who need a little more than the average sitter can provide. I ONLY TAKE CATS FOR BOARDING NOW. Some very rare exceptions for certain dogs may be made, but the rate is double.

Safety, trust & environment

I have pet GPS trackers that everyone gets while under my watch. ⸻ Medical & High-Needs Pets I’m confident caring for pets with medical or behavioral needs, including those needing multiple daily medications. With experience as an equine vet assistant, I can handle most minor emergencies and provide calm, stable care until a vet takes over. I won’t play vet (don’t worry!), but I’m comfortable making solid judgment calls if something unexpected arises. ⸻ Meet Lady and Bindi! Lady is my 12-year-old Husky. She prefers the outdoors and keeps to herself. She’s unusually quiet and calm (yes—even for a Husky!) and often models trail manners for the other dogs. Bindi is my 4 year old feline and is great with dogs. ⸻ House Sitting Guidelines • Homes must be smoke-free and mold-free • Exterior-only cameras (doorbell, porch, etc.) are totally fine • Interior cameras or audio devices must be disabled during my stay due to privacy concerns with my phone-based patient work • I’m extremely clean, respectful, and organized, your home will be at least as clean as you left it. Please make sure it’s tidy before my arrival

A typical day

Exercise & Activity I work a hybrid schedule but am mostly home—and I prioritize daily exercise like it’s my job (because it kind of is!). I go for a 3–6 mile hike every afternoon and can tailor the route and pace to whatever’s age- and health-appropriate for your dog. I’m a great fit for high-energy breeds, but I always adjust to each animal’s individual needs. Regular movement is essential—motion is lotion!—and even if I’m sick or exhausted, I never skip getting any dog to their activity goal.
