Compassionate Care for Companions
I've had hands-on experience caring for animals at different points throughout my life, primarily helping friends and family with their pets. My experience includes caring for, helping raise, and working on basic training with dogs and cats. I've also rescued and raised a baby mouse, which taught me just how much patience, attentiveness, and compassion even the smallest animals need. I genuinely love spending time with animals and understand how important it is to know your companion is safe and comfortable while you're away. I'm comfortable with feeding, fresh water, walks, play and enrichment, litter care, companionship, and following an animal's established routine and care instructions. I respect that every animal has their own personality, boundaries, and way of communicating. Some want lots of interaction and affection, while others feel safest when given space and allowed to approach on their own terms. I pay attention to those cues rather than forcing interaction. I'm dependable, attentive to detail, and respectful of both the animals in my care and the homes I'm trusted to enter. My goal is to give your pet compassionate, individualized care while giving you peace of mind when you can't be there.

I understand that caring for someone's pet also means being trusted with their home. I take that responsibility seriously and will respect your space, privacy, household rules, and pet-care instructions. I pay attention to doors, leashes, feeding instructions, routines, and anything else needed to keep your pet safe. I also believe trust should be built with the animal. I'll allow your pet to become comfortable with me at their own pace rather than forcing interaction, while staying attentive to changes in their behavior or needs. Clear communication with pet parents is important to me, and I'm happy to provide updates while you're away.

April is my go to when looking for a sitter for my cat Mate. Her communication is consistent and detailed so I always know when she has been up to check on him. April pays attention to Mate's unique personality and will spend time with him when he is feeling social but will also give him space if he's not feeling it. April goes above and beyond checking in on Mate which gives me peace of mind while I am away!

Schedule
I work a rotating schedule which gives me multiple weekdays and weekends off throughout the month. On my days off, I can offer more flexible availability for walks, visits, companionship, and house sitting. I keep my Rover availability updated so pet parents can see when I'm available, and I value clear communication when coordinating care.
