I always like to keep an eye on your pet whether you have a fenced yard or not. To me I am responsible for your baby while you are away fence or no fence. I also leave your home the way I found it. I clean up after myself and after your pet during my stay with him/her. I try to make your home look like I was never there :)

Information April H. would like to know about your pet

Do I believe in love at first sight? Yes! I fall in love with every dog I see! I currently own a Basset Hound. He’s pretty smart too! I had a Basset previously that was a rescue and I had to work with him extensively as he was abused. I can proudly say he was a successfully socialized dog and had a happy life. I had a Basset Hound before that passed at 12 years of age so I'm experienced in Senior dogs and their aches, pains, and overall temperament. I also have special needs experience - blind/deaf dogs as well. I am experienced in giving medication oral and/or injectections. Doggies (and kitties) ...they are my heart. It beats for them! I think they do more for me than I do for them. I would like to know about your dog's fears and phobias, does he/she play well with others, is she/ he leash trained? When to eat and what not. Anything to help your dog be more comfortable in my care and anything to alleviate any concerns you may have is my TOP priority. Trust is important to me and I hope to earn yours!!

Does your dog know any tricks? Well he/she will when I keep them! Want to impress your friends? Contact me! I would like to know their habits, routines, schedules, their quirks, fears, (thunder, etc.). Any instructions will be strictly adhered to. I will offer lots of love to your dog. I will make a point to send you texts, pictures, and videos of your pet while you are away if that is something you prefer. I will be available for you to contact at ANY time. I have no children and this is my full time job so I'm able to devote all my time to your baby!

24/7 Pet Care

Pet care experience

Greetings! I'm a Christian lady first and foremost and every single dog I meet I see as a BLESSING! I’ve been on Rover since 2015 and I’m an older woman, this is what I do full time, and I provide EXCEPTIONAL care. I watch your pet as close as I would watch my own. They are my responsibility while you are away and I take that seriously. I notice any changes in behavior, any potential illnesses, and I keep you updated on it ALL. I keep my phone on 24/7 while I’m sitting your pet. Boarding your pet at a vet or another boarding facility does not get you round the clock care. There’s no one-on-one interaction and that’s what I provide. That’s the difference between just boarding your dog and letting someone come and stay with your pup in his/her own home. It’s less stressful for them and they are able to stay on their routine. Also boarding can expose them to many illnesses. I personally do not board my own dog. I have a sitter as well. If I’m going to talk the talk, I’m going to walk the walk. :) If your dog cannot be left alone for extended periods of time or struggles with separation anxiety or maybe he/she is used to you being home most of the time, ask me about my constant care rates. I currently own a Basset Hound. Dogs are my weakness so you can rest assured they will be spoiled and pampered. I do make house calls and can do WHATEVER is requested. Potty breaks, play time, walks, affection, etc. I also don’t mind checking the mail, taking the garbage out, watering plants, and so forth. When I sit in your home, I devote all my time to your babies. I don't just "drop-in." I’m there for your baby to have potty breaks every 0-2 hours per request. This means I have no other responsibilities at the time of your sitting other than your fur baby! If your pup needs basic obedience training, I can help with that as well. I may surprise you and teach them tricks too while you are gone! They will receive one on one personalized attention which you cannot get from just boarding your dog. I send videos and pictures 2 - 3 times a day (or more/less depending on your preference) so you can be confident in knowing your baby is having a good time and so you'll be at peace while you're away. I am a smoker and I smoke outside of my home and would outside of yours as well. I’ve kept many different breeds from Pomeranians to Great Danes. Big or small - I love them all! I know what’s important to me when I leave my dog in the care of a sitter. I put myself in those same shoes when I keep your fur baby. What would give me peace of mind if I were to leave my pet? I have moved to Wesson but I service Rankin and Madison county with a $25 gas fee. If you’re unsure if I’m available for your area, always ask. I have traveled much further for some clients. Note: My dog stays with my parents while I sit - he does NOT come with me.

April was great with our little Zoe. She checked in often and shared pictures. Made us feel at ease. Would recommend and would use again.

I cannot say enough good things about April. I was impressed with her daily communication and the many pics she sent of my pets. April was very patient with my shyest dog and finally won her over; she now has a friend forever! She was very respectful of my home and followed all my instructions to a T. We will definitely call April for all our pet/house sitting needs!!!

April took great care of our dogs over the weekend. Very responsive and detailed info about how our dogs were getting along without us being home.
