I've known April C for about 15 years and animals is what she's all about. She's multi-talented in every aspect of caring for a variety of animals. She's done a wonderful job caring for her dogs, goats and even the horse she had several years ago. She goes the extra mile to insure that her pets have the best natural care possible. She has natural talent with animals to where she is capable of training them. Her dogs are extremely obedient. She can tell them to stay at a particular place, walk away, and they will not leave that spot. They all seem like they want her love and approval. All the years that she had her goat farm, she would be up all hours of the night when her goats would be in labor. She always knew the window of time that they should be born and if they weren't then she would step into action to help the moms out by getting the babies out. She has saved the lives of so many animals whether it be during birth or an illness. She will study things out and come up with the most natural route. I recently called her late in the evening on January 24th during an ice storm to come help my little dachshund out, because she had been in labor since the evening before and had been trying to push her first puppy for several hours. When I called my vet he said to get her to his office in Pulaski, TN. I knew we couldn't risk driving 20 miles on ice covered roads. He told me if I didn't get her up there at least by morning that I could lose momma and puppies and that she would probably have to get a C-section. Then I was reminded of how April is with animals so I called her and she came to my house in just a few minutes. I hate to be gross by being so graphic but she went to animal saving mode like she had with hundreds of her goats pregnancies. She had to carefully get inside to know what the problem was. She carefully felt inside and found that the first puppy's nose and mouth were right there, but the cervix hadn't dilated near enough, so she carefully helped it to thin out to where the first puppy could move. She told me right away that the puppy's sack was broken and that it's possible that it won't make it. This was sad to hear, but April continued for at least 20 minutes trying to get ahold of that puppy without injuring it. Well after that pup, being in a broken sack for at least 20 minutes (that I'm aware of), April pulled it out and it lived!!!! It was breathing the air and started nursing right away as well. We named her Miracle and we owe April more than gratitude but she's the type that doesn't expect anything, because she loves what she does. She stuck around to make sure that the momma was able to to deliver the next puppy and she did. If ever a person wanted or needed an animal lover with excellent skills to care for their fur babies in any way, my vote would be Miss April hands down. I'm sorry to go on and on, but the puppy delivery is still fresh on my mind and we still continue to thank Miss April when she and her nieces and nephews come with her to see the puppies. She is top notch. Oh wait there is something that I forgot to mention. We moved here from Oklahoma and have some weddings to attend this year and we asked her if she would house sit with our 3 dogs and 3 cats. The puppies should have new homes by then. She is more than trustworthy but she's also dependable and passionate about everything. A very good soul. So, I think I'm finally done here. April is the best dog owner I've ever meet or seen, and her dogs are quite literally the best dogs I've ever interacted with. She always cares for them, gives them tons of love, and makes sure they're healthy. She has helped me alot with my own dog and I can firmly say he wouldn't even be close to as well cared for if it weren't for her. She knows and understands how dogs act and think so well sometimes I'm convinced she can read their minds. In conclusion I can't name any other person more qualified for this job than April coleman.
