Let all your dogs come to me *smooch*
I grew up with an irrational fear of dogs. Now, you can't even tell that I used to cross the street and hide whenever I saw a dog in the distance. That is probably due to my curiosity to surpass this fear by befriending the dogs I knew were 'safe'; that is, those belonging to family and friends. The first dog I befriended was this tiny blond goofball my maternal grandparents had. He was witty, gentle and extremely intelligent. Then, the second one was the one belonging to my other grandparents, who was an energetic labrador. He taught me how to act around bigger dogs and protected me anytime we would go on walks. Years later came Mimi, a puppy I rescued after hearing her crying in the tall grass where she'd been abandoned. It was the first time I took it into my hands to care for a dog and teach her how to walk on a leash. Now, I only have three dogs who are big furbabies full of energy and joy. They're probably the most unbothered and easy-to-care-for dogs I've seen in a while, which really makes my life easier.

Antonia is a super sweet person who was extremely flexible and helped me out in last minute when needing care for Vilja when travelling. I really appreciated her enthusiasm and care for Vilja, and ability to care for her as a last minute request! The only thing that I could comment on is maybe that Antonia might not have a huge knowledge of how to raise a dog, in terms of setting some boundaries. This was just in terms of when taking a walk; that she let Vilja chose the path completely - which then made me have to sort of “retrain” Vilja again to listen to me and the path that I chose; and deal with a dog that refused to walk home when I needed us to walk home. I also had a feeling that maybe Vilja didn’t get to go for as long and many walks as I suggested, which was because Vilja was sleeping a lot. I do think that with just some feedback to Antonia and very clear communication about how to care for your dog this will not be an issue. I experience that it comes from a place of wanting to be super nice and follow the dogs pace, rather than making the dog do things… Which I understand - but as the same as with children we sometimes also need to set boundaries and decide for them. I would ask Antonia to sit for me again, but then give this feedback before hand :).

Antonia is a great person with experience in taking care of dogs and cats. She took care of our dog, Neri, and sat with him at our place for a couple of days. Neri was very fond of her and is still very excited whenever he meets her. I would definitely recommend her as a passionate animals lover and attentive caretaker.

Schedule
I am currently in between jobs, so I can dedicate a good portion of my time to caring for your pets. I currently have no pets in my household, so I will make sure your pet(s) is going to get my full attention and care.

Safety, trust & environment
Back in my home country, my three dogs have an outdoor fenced area where they eat and nap. Each of them has their own little house where they can seek shelter and keep warm. They have the liberty to run around the yard each day after dinner time. My cat has been raised to act like a dog, in the sense that she's used to wearing a harness and leash. She spends her time indoors at night and is free to roam in the yard on a 30m leash whenever she asks to.
A typical day
We will have a slow morning then set out to walk and smell all there is to smell in the neighbourhood. We’ll venture into nature and play stimulating games together.
