A Calm, Private Space For Your Pup
Leaving your dog with someone new is a big deal - I get it, because I feel the same way about my own four. That's really at the heart of how I care for every dog who stays with me. Your pup gets a dedicated private room of their own, a calm space to settle in and be themselves - never a crate, unless you'd like me to use one. My own dogs stay separate from every guest, and if I happen to be hosting another family's dog at the same time, yours won't cross paths with them either, unless you've told me that's okay. I also love welcoming bonded pairs or even sibling groups of up to four, so pups who are used to each other can stay together. I work from home and I'm around for most of the day, though like most households there are natural stretches - usually around 4-5 hours - where your dog will have some quiet time alone, just as they would at home. I do my best to shape each stay around your dog's normal rhythm rather than asking them to adjust to mine. This setup tends to be the best fit for dogs who are comfortable with a little alone time and don't need someone by their side every minute. And if your pup has any anxieties, or gets into things when left alone - please tell me. Nothing scares me off; I just want to set your dog up to feel safe and comfortable from the moment they arrive, and knowing ahead of time makes all the difference. I also offer pickup and drop-off for $10 round trip (one dog under 100 lbs, or two dogs each under 60 lbs) if that would make things easier for you.

Anthony took absolutely wonderful care of my Labrador, Channel, during a long 40-day stay at his home. The entire experience was amazing! Channel felt so loved, welcomed, and right at home from the start. Leaving a pet for such an extended period can be stressful, but Anthony completely put our minds at ease. He was incredibly attentive, kept in touch regularly, and sent plenty of photos so we could see how happy she was. He truly treated her like his own. Our home is built around our own four dogs - Romeo, Luna, Ares, and Molly - but they won't be sharing space with your pup during their stay. I know how much peace of mind comes from knowing your dog has their own calm corner, so every guest gets a private room to settle into at their own pace. Feel free to send along their favorite bed or blanket from home - familiar smells go a long way. If I'm caring for another family's dog at the same time, they'll stay separate from yours too, unless you've let me know it's fine for them to meet. I only use a crate if you ask me to; most dogs do better with room to stretch out and relax. Like any home, there are a few hours each day - usually around 4-5 - where dogs get some quiet time to themselves. It's not something to worry about, just something I want you to know going in. Outside of that, potty breaks, meals, and attention all follow a rhythm built around what you tell me your dog is used to. Pairs and sibling groups (up to four) are always welcome to stay together and keep each other company. If your dog is generally comfortable with a little independence, they'll likely feel right at home here.

I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog somewhere new, so everything about this setup is designed to make that easier - for both of you. Your dog won't be mixed in with my own pack, and unless you've specifically said it's okay, they won't be spending time with any other guests' dogs either. I don't crate unless you ask me to; instead, every dog (or bonded group, up to four) gets their own private room to eat, sleep, and unwind without having to compete for space or attention. If bringing their own bed helps them feel more at home, I'd love for you to send it along. I'm around for most of the day, though there are typically a few hours - around 4-5 - where dogs have some time alone, which I wanted to be upfront about. And the more you can share ahead of time - anxiety triggers, things they do when left alone, anything that makes your dog uniquely them - the better I can care for them from day one.

There's usually a stretch of about 4-5 hours where dogs rest on their own, with me checking in before and after - I want you to know that upfront so there are no surprises. I don't set up playdates with dogs who don't already know each other; if your pup came with a sibling or bonded companion, they'll have each other, and otherwise they'll simply have their own peaceful space. Whatever routine your dog is used to, I follow it closely, and dogs who are comfortable with some quiet independence tend to settle in the fastest.
