Pet care experience

Responsible Healthcare Worker (WFH)

I'm Anthony. I am a native Jersey Boy and I love animals (especially dogs). I currently do not have a dog. I work from home! However, I am quite popular and have been boarding a few dogs since I began Rover! You can likely expect that I will have at least one dog while you submit your boarding request so please ensure your pets are dog friendly! =) Your pet will get ample attention as they will be in my apartment while I work and get many walks and care. I have a large dog crate/dog playpen, dog beds (3, ranging from small to very large), dog bowls, dog treats, potty bags, extra collars and leashes, too many toys, and blankets. All you need to bring is your pup, their food, harness and/or leash if you have a preference. I am in the process of applying to volunteer at a local animal shelter, and have decided to also sign up for Rover to satiate my love for animals. I grew up with both small (yorkies, Maltese's, silkies, and Pomeranians) and large (Boxers) dogs. I am particularly fond of small lap dogs and I have owned 3 Pomeranians myself (Bear, Lionel, & Samson!). I am a very responsible pet-owner and sitter who works remotely at a large hospital in NYC. My experience with small dogs is extensive. I've had no problem waking up in the middle of the night raising my puppies and feeding them to prevent hypoglycemia. I've also trained dogs to use both pee pads and to go potty outdoors (a feat that was very impressive to several Veterinarians!). And, as a marathoner, I enjoy walking, jogging, and running with all dogs or an energetic play session in my apartment. Additionally, as a previous owner of pure-bred dogs, I am familiar with breed specific medical conditions and as a healthcare worker am well equipped to administer medication and monitor health concerns and/or issues. For larger dogs, as I am a runner, I enjoy tiring them out (if okay with the owner). I grew up leash training our boxers to jog alongside me. I lead a very active lifestyle, and am a fan of including dogs in the lifestyle (if okay with the owner). As Westfield is a very walkable city, I enjoy taking doggos to coffee shops or dinner al fresco.

Anthony was great! Took care of our boy, took him on walks, provided updates, was flexible for us to drop off an hour earlier as plans changed. Definitely would book again!

Anthony was great! My puppies loved him and he communicated with me throughout their stay. I really liked how he had an enclosed area for my pups- I was confident that they were safe. Thank you Anthony!

Anthony was fantastic. Very communicative and flexible. I was stressed leaving my younger pup for the e first time but he was great with him an able to give him the attention he needed as a very active pup. So happy with my experience!

Safety, trust & environment

We live in an apartment with no other pets and we are fine accommodating your dog's permanent home environment and routine. We have a crate and dog gates.

A typical day

I get up early and will immediately tend to the dog, make sure they go on a walk, use the bathroom, and eat and drink water (depending on their needs). From there, if it is a work day then I will work for a few hours and then repeat the morning routine. In the afternoon, I'd like to go on a long walk or to a dog park and get the dog proper stimulation and exercise! And for the evening I will repeat the morning and early afternoon routine.

I am available, willing, and lovingly ready to care for any and all dogs. I just ask that if dogs are not house trained and/or have any destructive/anxious behavior issues (chewing furniture or household items) that I am made aware ahead of time so I can dog-proof and make necessary accommodations.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
