One pet at a time ~
My wife and I have had pets most of our lives and I look forward to giving your pet my full attention while you are away. We lost our Yellow Lab, Zowie, due to illness and to cope with her loss we decided to pet sit. Taking care of your pet helps us with the emptiness we are experiencing. We have an enclosed backyard and a park nearby where I can take your pet for daily exercise. I have experience with giving meds if required. I am retired so I am home full-time to give your pet plenty of attention. I am looking forward to taking care of your precious family member for you. Koda stayed with Irene and Tony for 4 days, and we were so grateful for the care and understanding they showed him. He has a few quirky behaviors, like play mouthing, growling during play, and little nose boops when he wants something, and both Irene and Tony were incredibly patient, experienced, and clearly very comfortable reading dog behavior. It gave us a lot of peace of mind knowing Koda was with someone who understood him and accepted him as he is. We also really appreciated that they let him snuggle and sleep on the bed at night, which made his stay feel extra comforting and familiar for him. They took him out for daily walks and let him have his happy zoomies in their lovely backyard. We are very thankful for the kindness and care they gave Koda, and we would absolutely trust them with him again.

Schedule
My wife and I are both retired so we are home most of day. One of us normally stays with pet while the other runs errands, etc.

Safety, trust & environment
Our backyard is fenced in with a wall and gates are closed. Both front and back inside doors are always kept locked. If inside doors are open during nice weather, the screen doors are also kept locked.
A typical day
Enclosed yard and pet-friendly. Our neighborhood is retired adults -many with dogs. The best time for walking your pet is evening when it's cooler and less pet traffic to run into.
