Safety, trust & environment
I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets and home. Before working as a veterinary assistant, I worked as an in-home caregiver, which gave me experience working in clients’ homes and taught me the importance of professionalism, respect, reliability, and clear communication. I always treat my clients’ homes with the same care and respect that I would want someone to show my own. I will carefully follow your pet’s routine, feeding instructions, and medication schedule, and I’m comfortable administering oral medications, liquids, eye medications, ear medications, and topical treatments as directed. My veterinary assistant experience also taught me how to safely handle pets, recognize signs of illness or discomfort, and stay calm in unexpected situations.
Information Annika P. would like to know about your pet
Every pet is different, so I appreciate knowing as much as possible ahead of time! Please tell me about your pet’s routine, personality, energy level, medical needs, medications, fears, favorite toys, and anything else that helps them feel comfortable. My goal is to provide care that feels familiar and stress-free while you’re away. My veterinary assistant experience also allows me to confidently administer medications and recognize signs that a pet may not be feeling their best.
A typical day
A typical day depends on each pet’s personality and needs. For dogs, that might mean walks, playtime, training reinforcement, sniffing adventures, or just relaxing together. For cats, I love interactive play, enrichment activities, and giving them attention on their terms. I make sure pets get plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, affection, and rest while keeping their normal routines as consistent as possible. My goal is for your pet to feel safe, comfortable, and have fun while you’re away.

Pet care experience
I’ve been around animals my entire life and genuinely enjoy spending time with them. I joined Rover because I love caring for pets and wanted an opportunity to help other pet owners while spending time with animals. I previously worked as a veterinary assistant, where I gained experience handling dogs and cats with a wide variety of personalities, ages, and needs. I’m comfortable administering oral medications, liquids, eye medications, ear medications, topical treatments, and other prescribed medications as directed. I’m also attentive to changes in behavior and health and understand the importance of maintaining routines to help pets feel comfortable and secure. While I’m newer to professional pet sitting, I’m reliable, communicative, and committed to treating every pet as if they were my own. My goal is to provide loving, dependable care and give owners peace of mind while they’re away.

Reviews
I’ve known Annika for several years and would absolutely trust her with my pets. She is reliable, caring, and genuinely loves animals. She treats her own pets like family and always goes above and beyond to make sure they’re happy, healthy, and well cared for. As a cat owner myself, I know how important it is to find someone you can trust. Annika is attentive, responsible, and has experience as a veterinary assistant, which gives me even more confidence in her ability to care for animals. I would feel completely comfortable leaving my cats in her care and highly recommend her to other pet owners.
