Safety, trust & environment

Safety is my top priority. (Although snuggles are a close second!) Jokes aside-throughout drop ins or walks, I can make sure your fur baby is in a safe environment while feeding, walking, or providing enrichment.

Information Annie B. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know any pertinent behaviors or medical concerns before meeting. Most important questions to me are: How would your dog react to me as a stranger? If they are shy or uncomfortable with new people, what tends to work best when meeting them for the first time? Does your dog have any reactivity (barking, pulling, tenseness) while on leash? If so, what are they reactive to? (Other dogs, kids, squirrels, bikes, etc.) Do they have any medications that need to be administered? And lastly, what makes your dog feel the most comfortable while on walks or in the home?

A typical day

Every dog is different-let me know what your little one likes and we’ll go from there! I have years of experience creating homemade puzzle toys and enrichment items with treats and toys to keep your little loved one busy for hours. Walks would include enrichment “sniff around” time, as well as exercise fitting the dog’s needs. If you have a place around your house that you’d like me to walk, we’ll go there! If you want then to have a little bit of new scenery, I can secure them in a made-for-dogs seatbelt in my car and we’ll go on a little adventure together! My personal favorite place to go are a few different parks with minimal people, and other dogs to prevent reactivity or unwanted meetings. If you’d like, I can do enrichment and training while on the walks, working on loose-leash walking, staying focused, and tricks. However, if your baby is a “go go go!” kind of walker, that’s fine too. I’m comfortable walking or running to tire your little one out as much as possible.

Experienced Sitter-Reactive Dogs!

Pet care experience

Hi pet parents + fur babies! I have 11+ years of experience working with animals personally and professionally, and almost 7 years of experience with dogs that have behavior or medical challenges. In the past 2 years I have worked closely with many reactive, fearful, shy, rowdy, and stranger-danger dogs. I use positive reinforcement and Fear Free models in any training that I do while with a dog or cat. I have extensive experience with puppies and kittens as well as senior dogs and cats. I have personal experience working with animals with medical issues such as seizures, pain, difficulty walking, and blindness/hearing loss. I feel very comfortable with working with your baby no matter the behavior or medical challenge (and can wrap their medication in however many hot dogs or cheese slices it takes!) If you’ve had trouble lately finding a pet sitter that can handle a rowdy, shy, jumpy, fearful, or medical case pet, I might just be the gal you’re looking for. Send me a message and let’s get to know each other!

Annie is fantastic. Gives breakdowns of visits and photos. My dog is pretty anxious and reactive to other animals and she’s done a fantastic job with him. Also extremely flexible. 10/10 would recommend
