I don't have pets anymore, so taking care of other people's pets gives me a chance to interact with them on a daily basis and find my happy place! I'm also a big walker and like to explore the neighborhoods and parks around the area. Having a pup along for the adventure makes it even more worthwhile.

I am available for pet sitting at your home and can do extended stays as needed. For first time clients, I like to schedule a longer meet and greet so your pet(s) and I can get to know each other a little and you can tell me all you think I need to know to give your babies the loving attention they deserve.

Whatever you'd like to tell me about your pet is good! The more you can tell me, the better I can make sure to cater my services to your pets specific needs, especially if there are any behavioral or medical issues that need to be monitored.
A typical day
Every pet is different so I tailor my activities to their needs and established routines. They tend to warm up to me pretty quickly, even those who are shy or aloof around others. With active dogs, I'll give them lots of exercise and reinforce whatever rules you have for them with lots of positivity. Check out my Instagram account @dogwalksandstories and see for yourself! And if your cat or dog is a homebody or couch potato, I'll get out their favorite toy, take them around their neighborhood, or just cuddle with them calmly. If they're stubborn, I'll be patient and work with them until they're ready to do what needs to be done. If they're anxious, I'll help them feel safe and secure so they can find their happy place. And if they're older and set in their ways, I'll just love on them.

Pet care experience
I'm an active adult who loves pets of all sorts - big babies, little babies, shy babies, high energy zoomers - you name it! Check out the pictures of some of the pups, kitties, and other pets I've been lucky to have be part of my life and see for yourself! Bottom line - I've been around dogs and cats all of my life. I've trained five of my own dogs, owned three cats, and have decades of experience taking care of other people's pets at every stage of their lives, including through medical issues. I'm one of those people that most dogs and cats sense out and come up to on their own for a little love. I love having that bond with animals and meeting them where they are. It's a moment of joy. I love to keep the pets I take care of healthy and happy with lots of walkies, play time, scritches and cuddles, num-nums they love, and long naps in a comfy spot. I work hard to adapt my care to their energy, existing routines, and special needs. Do they need a lot of TLC and patience? I have loads of it. Lots of interaction? Yes! Couch potato time? I'm there. Can't wait to meet you and your fur baby(ies)!

Anne has been my go-to for watching my senior citizen pup for the last several years - I am moving outside of the DC area and am devastated to lose her as a part of my support team! My pup is 18 and has some special needs, and I have always trusted her to provide excellent care to my boy. My home is well cared for when I am gone, and I return to a happy pup.
