Pet care experience
Flexible, competent, and reliable
I may be new to Rover but I’m not new to animal care 🐾 From hedgehogs to horses, veterinary clinics to forestry camps, I’ve loved and provided various levels of care for my own and the animals of others for over 25 years. I have the experience and capacity to provide specialized care for dogs with specialized needs, including those with leash reactivity, complex medical requirements, and owners who have anxiety over being separated from their beloved companions . For daycare and boarding, my partner, Dago, helps out with extra walks or supervision when needed. He is available to introduce himself during meet & greets. While Dago may not have the experience or expertise that I do, he is kind, competent, and 100% the “fun uncle” your dog may side-eye at first but will quickly fall in love with and have him wrapped around their paws (I’ve included photographic proof on the photos section 😂). **I know that many Rover clients look at the reviews as an indicator of the quality of the care provider. As Rover makes up only a small fraction of my client base, I gladly provide contact information for long-term, private clients who are happy to answer any questions about their experiences with my services.**

Anne (and Macy) were great ! We had a meet and greet visit and left feeling confident that Deuce would be in good hands. We may need a couple of more trial sessions before both the dogs are comfortable. Definitely recommend Anne - you can see her genuine care and love for animals.

Anne was great and super friendly! She followed my care instructions carefully and double checked if unsure. You can tell she genuinely loves dogs by the way she interacts with them.

I've known Anne for years, and I can confidently say she's one of the most caring, responsible, and trustworthy people I know. She has a genuine love for animals and always treats them with patience, kindness, and respect. Whether it's making sure pets feel comfortable, sticking to their routines, or giving them plenty of attention and affection, Anne goes above and beyond. Pet parents can feel confident knowing their furry family members will be safe, happy, and well cared for with her. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Anne to anyone looking for a dependable and compassionate pet caregiver.

Schedule
🗓️ AVAILABILITY: • I don’t overcommit, I respect people’s time, and I cater to each dog’s individual needs. • Both Dago and I have the luxury of being home full time, and my work is incredibly casual and flexible, so when your dog is in our care, they are being cared for the entire time. • I’m available for boarding, daycare, walks, home visits, and specialized owner support (such as assistance with administering medication) throughout the week. 👋 MEET & GREETS: • Before accepting bookings, a free 30 minute Meet & Greet is required to make sure that everyone feels confident in the fit. • All meet and greets include a brief (5-10 minute) walk which allows you to demonstrate the on-leash techniques you use with your dog in order to help me maintain safety and comfort during walks. • Clients who have not fully completed Rover profiles for their dogs will be asked to either complete them or fill out a brief intake form prior to the Meet & Greet. It is more beneficial to use the time to answer your questions and get to know your dog rather than to quiz you on vaccination status and feeding schedules. 📌ADDITIONAL DETAILS: • Daycare hours are generally limited to 7am-6pm, with extended evening care available for an additional fee of $15/hour. (This is always negotiable based on your dog and my schedule) • Bookings for walks & drop in visits are generally limited to the hours of 9am-7pm.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
🏡 THE CAREGIVING VIBE: • Our home is as dog friendly as you could hope for. Surrounded by numerous trails starting at our back door and a dog bakery downstairs, we never run out of places to explore or shady forest areas to relax in. Our main room is kept dog-safe and ready for active play or comfy naps, and our balcony garden is a popular place for dogs to suntan and observe the goings on of the neighbourhood. • Safety-first for us means baby gates that close off unsupervised areas, lots of options for individual calm spaces, and separation from the kitchen to allow for separated feeding and avoid accidental food access. • I maintain as much continuity as possible when caring for your pets, following routines and rules as closely as possible in order to reduce confusion and disruption to their lives. If you don’t let them up on the couch, neither will I. If they sleep on your bed, they can sleep on mine. • Difficult situations are always approached with clear communication, endless patience, and deep compassion, whether it’s with an overenthusiastic puppy, an anxious but lovable giant, or a client who needs extra help and flexibility while they’re juggling the demands of a busy life. 👀 SUPERVISION: • I take on only one client at a time, and the rare occasion where there could be brief overlap between daycare clients and the arrival/departure of boarding clients will be done only with the full knowledge and consent of both clients. • Your dog will not be left alone in the home or unsupervised for any amount of time, except in rare cases during boarding situations and only when previously discussed with you or in the case of an emergency. 🚗 KENNELS AND TRANSPORTATION: • For safety reasons, we require boarding dogs to be comfortable for up to 3 hours in a kennel (only to be used with clear communication with the owner regarding the timing and duration of every event). • In agreement with pet and road safety standards, any dogs travelling in our vehicles are required to be appropriately confined to a kennel at all times. • Your dog will never be left in a vehicle unattended for any length of time. 🦮 GEAR SAFETY: For your dog’s safety, I require all gear used to be in good condition and in agreement with cruelty-free ASPCA/Humane Society standards. ❌ Prohibited gear includes: - Prong/pinch collars - Choke chains - Spray or shock collars - Neck collars for small breeds with higher risk for tracheal collapse 🛁 HYGIENE AND GROOMING STANDARDS: ⚠️ FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR OTHER CLIENTS WE MAINTAIN A STRICT FLEA/PARASITE POLICY in agreement with Rover’s policies: • All dogs entering our home must be fully vaccinated, and using flea preventatives. • To maintain the comfort of your dog and cleanliness of our home, all boarding dogs must meet reasonable hygiene standards. • Bathing, brushing, sanitary trims, and nail maintenance can be included in boarding care for an additional fee of $30-$100, prices to be confirmed and paid at intake.

A typical day
🌿 A DAY IN THE LIFE: • Although I'm partial to forest exploration and chin scritches (for both me and the dog), I’m happy to do whatever your dog actually enjoys. Whether that’s a long, purposeful walk, a slow sniff around the neighbourhood, chasing sticks and splashing through a creek, or just hanging out at home for some play time and snuggles, I'm generally game. • Activities are weather-dependent, of course, but generally a dog spending the day with me can expect at least one 30-90 minute excursion exploring nearby trails, regular 15 minute pee breaks in the neighbourhood trails, and some structured indoor play time alongside Macy the miniature poodle. • Depending on your dog’s level of interest, they'll have the opportunity to join in on some enrichment and training games with Macy (hide and seek is the current favourite). • A dog’s day wouldn’t be complete without some good solid naps, so, of course, there is always lots of opportunity for quiet play, rest, and suntanning on the balcony. 📋 HOW TO PREPARE FOR BOARDING OR YOUR FIRST DAYCARE VISIT: • Ensure your dog is up to date on vaccines and flea treatments. • Make a written list of all feeding and medication schedules (make sure all medications include their original packaging and labels). • Write out any last minute instructions or questions • Allow for an extra 15-20 minutes at drop off for going through instructions and making sure all emergency information is communicated (rushing drop off can lead to important information being overlooked and a stressful transition for your dog) 🧳 GEAR AND SUPPLIES: • Daycare clients are asked to provide treats and poop bags along with walking gear and any meals or meds required, all of which will be returned on pick up. • Boarding clients are asked to provide bedding and dishes for their dog to reduce the stress of unfamiliarity during their stay, in addition to food, treats, walking gear, poop bags, and kennel. • Other helpful items to pack for boarding include: a raincoat/sweater, a couple of favourite toys, a brush specific for their coat, and anything else that they are used to having at home that will make their stay as comfortable as possible. • All items are inventoried at intake to ensure that all non-consumables are returned to you at the end of your dog’s stay.

- Tell me what your dog is like in real life, the good and the bad. Knowing how your dog may behave when we encounter other animals, bikes, kids, squirrels, or whatever personal nemesis they’ve chosen is important for both enjoyment and safety. ***** I can handle anything when prepared, so if you have a dog that gets twitchy around balloons and traffic cones (ask me why I selected those specific triggers 😂), or has developed an unfortunate taste for goose poop (again, personal experience 🤦♀️), just give me a heads up and we will avoid the goose birthday party at the construction site.
