Pet care experience

Flexible, competent, and available.

I’m new to Rover (July 2026) but not new to animal care. From hedgehogs to horses, veterinary clinics to forestry camps, I’ve loved and provided various levels of care for my own and the animals of others for over 25 years. I approach difficult interactions with clear communication, endless patience, and deep compassion, whether it’s an overenthusiastic puppy, an anxious but lovable giant, or a client who needs extra help while they’re juggling the demands of a busy life. I know that finding pet care that balances cost and convenience isn’t easy, and it’s incredibly difficult to trust someone else to give your dog the same level of care and attention that you do. Nobody can do it as well as you, but I like to think I’m a pretty good stand-in when needed. Before accepting bookings, I always book a meet and greet in the location the care will take place to make sure that everyone feels confident in the fit.

Doggy Day Care • Aug 22, 2026

Anne (and Macy) were great ! We had a meet and greet visit and left feeling confident that Deuce would be in good hands. We may need a couple of more trial sessions before both the dogs are comfortable. Definitely recommend Anne - you can see her genuine care and love for animals.

I've known Anne for years, and I can confidently say she's one of the most caring, responsible, and trustworthy people I know. She has a genuine love for animals and always treats them with patience, kindness, and respect. Whether it's making sure pets feel comfortable, sticking to their routines, or giving them plenty of attention and affection, Anne goes above and beyond. Pet parents can feel confident knowing their furry family members will be safe, happy, and well cared for with her. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Anne to anyone looking for a dependable and compassionate pet caregiver.

Schedule

I have a flexible schedule, don’t overcommit, and respect people’s time and their dog’s individual needs. I work from home and plan errands/outings accordingly, so your dog will not be left alone when in my care unless previously discussed with you. *Service area for walking/drop ins limited to the general neighbourhoods of Suter Brook, Newport, and Klahanie. *Daycare that lasts more than 8 hours or extends into the evening *may* be charged at a higher rate (to be discussed). *Bookings for walks and drop in visits are generally limited to the hours of 9am-7pm.

Safety, trust & environment

While small, our apartment is as dog friendly as you could hope for. Surrounded by trails starting at our back door and a dog bakery downstairs, we never run out of places to explore or shady forest areas to relax in. Safety-first for us means baby gates that close off unsupervised areas and options for individual calm spaces. I’m available for daycare, home visits, walks, feeding, play, and companionship throughout the week. Overnight boarding is an option open to repeat daycare clients once we’ve determined the dog is comfortable in the environment. I try to maintain as much continuity as possible when caring for your pets, following routines and rules as closely as possible in order to reduce confusion and disruption to their lives. If you don’t let them up on the couch, neither will I. If they sleep on your bed, they can sleep on mine—as long as they don’t snore too loudly. *for daycare and boarding, my partner helps out with extra walks or supervision when needed and accompanies me to drop in visits with new clients.

A typical day

Although I'm partial to forest exploration and chin scritches (for both me and the dog), I’m happy to do whatever your dog actually enjoys. Whether that’s a long, purposeful walk, a slow sniff around the neighbourhood, chasing sticks and splashing through a creek, or just hanging out at home for some play time and snuggles, I'm generally game. Activities are weather-dependent, of course, but generally a dog spending the day with me can expect at least one 30-90 minute excursion exploring nearby trails, along with some structured indoor play time alongside Macy the mini poodle. Depending on your dog’s level of interest, they may have the opportunity to join in on some training games with Macy (hide and seek is the current favourite). A dog’s day wouldn’t be complete without some good solid naps, so, of course, there is always lots of opportunity for quiet play and rest.

Tell me what your dog is like in real life, the good and the bad. Knowing how your dog may behave when we encounter other animals, bikes, kids, squirrels, or whatever personal nemesis they’ve chosen is important for both enjoyment and safety. I can handle anything when prepared, so if you have a dog that gets twitchy around balloons and traffic cones (ask me why I selected those specific triggers 😂), or has developed an unfortunate taste for goose poop (again, personal experience 🤦‍♀️), just give me a heads up and we will avoid the goose birthday party at the construction site.
