Dog lovers with beautiful safe home
My husband I have always loved dogs and had them in our lives since childhood. We are early retirees and able to offer outstanding care for your beloved pet/s. Our own beloved family member, Alfie, a Cocker Spaniel died in 2018 and we have since then lavished all our love on our granddog Duke, a Golden retriever, who lives in LA, whom we have helped raise since he was a puppy. We are early retirees and when not travelling, are able to offer 5 star care for your dog/s in our home, which is a good size, clean and very safe. We are both young, mid 50's and very active with access to walks around the lovely countryside in Bocking, Braintree. Having been on Rover for nearly a year and with a bit more experience, we offer a high quality service limited to just one dog at a time, or two dogs from the same family. We will not mix your dogs with any other dog, at any time during the stay. We wish to provide the best care possible and for us, we realise it's best if we concentrate on a single dog, or a pair of dogs, from the same family to maximise, safety, care and attention on your beloved pet/s.

We are so delighted by the wonderful experience we have had booking Anne and Chris. Our dog was wonderfully taken care of and we received regular updates on his adventures. They are fabulous sitters and we will certainly ask to book again in the future.
I was so lucky to come across Anne & Chris to look after Charlie for 7 nights. They were brilliant and looked after Charlie as their own! They both had the knowledge and skills to look after other people's dogs at their home. Made my break more comfortable with the knowledge that Charlie was in good hands There was no stress. First time ever leaving our 2 little dogs (normally stay with family ) from the first day of meeting Anne and Chris I felt totally comfortable and at ease they cared and loved our dogs just as if they were their own one of my dogs needs daily eye are and medication they had no problem at all doing this Anne sent me photos and video updates throughout our holiday it made my holiday as I didn’t have to worry at all my dogs were being cared and loved by wonderful people ! We recently had the pleasure of entrusting our beloved dog to Anne & Chris for the Easter weekend, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. From the moment we met Anne & Chris, it was clear that they genuinely care about dogs and have a natural ability to connect with them. Throughout the weekend, we were provided with regular updates, including photos and messages, which reassured me that our dog was in excellent hands. My dog was not only well-fed and cared for but also received plenty of playtime and affection. It's evident that Anne & Chris go above and beyond to ensure the pets they look after feel comfortable and loved. When I picked up my dog, I could tell he had enjoyed his time and was happy and relaxed. Chris even took the time to share some helpful tips and observations about my dog's behaviour (I’ve nicked named him the dog whisperer), which we greatly appreciated. I highly recommend Anne & Chris to anyone looking for a reliable, compassionate, and professional dog sitter. They truly made a difference in my dog's weekend, and have already booked them in for August! Thank you, Anne & Chris for your outstanding care and dedication.
I can’t thank Anne (and her husband Chris) enough for the devoted care they gave Bertie whilst I was on holiday. They looked after him so well, even administering medication where needed. I especially felt reassured by the great pictures they sent of Bertie enjoying his walks and resting afterwards! I certainly felt quite relaxed about Bertie being in a safe pair of hands. Anne and Chris are really lovely people and were brilliant with our dog on the meet and greet. We had booked them in for our upcoming summer holiday, but this booking was just an overnight stay. We explained the temperament of our dog (who is still only 1 years old!) and explained he was friendly, but he still didn't really know where to draw the line with other dogs. So when we arrived to our booking, we were surprised to see another dog there. We were there for the dogs to meet and they did seem to play really well together. They kept us updated and sent pictures which was nice. However, when we went to pick our dog up, Anne and Chris told us although he was a lovely boy, he was just too much for them. And because of that, they couldn't have him in the summer while we are away as they also have another dog booked in, which we also weren't made aware of. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. Especially as we'd made them aware of how our dog was with others. We don't really understand why they booked in another dog, and also didn't make us aware. They were very apologetic of the situation however, that doesn't really help us. We are now in the unfortunate situation of having to find another sitter at late notice for the summer period. If you're dog is medium / large and playful, then these sitters aren't for you. Otherwise I'm sure they would be great.

We are recently retired and therefore able to prove maximum time and attention to any Dog that stays in our home with us. We are also able to visit your home for walks or drop-ins.

We have a fenced in garden, which is dog friendly and safe. We have a spacious home, very safe and clean and a perfect loving environment for your pet. We live very close to the Fennes, giving us the best walks in Essex, perfect for us to exercise ourselves and your pet. We are both mature and responsible adults with lots of time on our hands. We are only looking to look after a maximum of one dog, or two dogs from the same home, at any one time, as we are looking to provide high quality and maximum attention to a small number of dogs, so we can enjoy the experience of having dogs, rather than providing care for financial reward alone.
Une journée type
We generally get up early and like to get out for our first 5km walk across the fields at the Fennes to enjoy the quiet and wildlife on offer. We consider that every smell and sensation that the dogs experience is akin to reading the paper, it provides stimulation and happiness. We will then generally go about our day pottering around the house until we have afternoon walkies around 4pm.
