I've loved dogs my entire life! I have experience raising and training puppies all the way up to caring for senior dogs with special needs, and have patience for all types (and sizes!) of dog personalities. I have some experience in obedience training, and prefer praise to punishment when working with dogs. I have some experience caring for kittens and cats, too. While I didn't grow up with them, I had a cat while away at college. I love to visit friends who have cats and spend time with kitties curled up in my lap. I work part-time teaching college classes during the school year. I have regular periods of time each day to spend with pets who may be at home and alone, missing their family while they're at work and school, or while the family may be gone a longer time. I will always be sure that a pet is safe and well cared for while their family is away. I always check that there is enough fresh water available and that doors and gates are securely closed. If it's warm, I'll try to find a shady route to walk a dog, paying special attention to protecting their paws from burns. In extreme heat, I carry filtered water with me so that they can have a drink periodically.
