Safety, trust & environment

During the meet and greet, I always ask the parent about which doors/windows should remain open or closed. If nothing is stated, my default is to enter the home quickly so pets cannot have a chance to escape and ensure windows stay closed and locked while the parents are not home (assuming the day isn't too warm for the babies).

Information Annah L. would like to know about your pet

- Stressors or aggressors for the pup - Medication if on it - Crated or not - Information on how to reach owners or vet - Behaviors to watch out for

A typical day

I usually like to ask the owners where the typical, familiar route for the pup is. If there isn't a set route, I'll take them on quiet routes around the neighborhood, away from other dogs or stressors. For cats, I usually try to entice them to play if they have a favorite toy, such as a wand or string toy.

Pet care experience

Since I was young, I was always interested in the welfare of pets. Starting in middle school, I was given the responsibility by my next-door neighbor to care for their sweet Aussie during their vacations. I would also water their plants, take the mail in the house, and did some light cleaning for them. I then volunteered in the South Gate/Downey Animal Control in high school for over 2 years. I walked and played with dogs, small to extra large, and offered companionship. I assisted families who were interested in adopting the potential dogs by offering them one-on-one interaction in an enclosed space. I also fed and cleaned their enclosures during every visit. Ever since I have been in school, I have maintained part-time jobs as a pet sitter for birds, dogs, and cats. My last position was co-fostering for Dalmatian Rescue of Colorado where my roommate and I helped place over three dogs in their forever homes! Please feel free to email or call me with any questions!

My usual sitters weren't around for a last-minute request but I'm so glad that Annah was available! She was very communicative and I would totally book her again to watch my monsters (ie., make sure they didn't destroy the place) and to give them ample playtime.
