Pet care experience
Owner away? I walk, sit, stay....
Growing up on a ranch in an agricultural family, working with animals has always been my way of life. My deep passion for dogs led me to study Zoology & Genetics, giving me a strong scientific & physiological understanding of animal health. Throughout my life, I have completed numerous canine behavioral & safety courses, some advanced. While I am not a professional dog trainer, the corses I’ve taken & clinical background allows me to approach pet care with a highly analytical, precise, & observant eye. I appreciate dogs of all unique personalities & with different needs. Although I host many happy, healthy adult dogs, I specialize in caring for middle-aged to senior dogs. I love stepping in when dogs are developing age-related conditions like arthritis, slowing down, & may have other medical conditions that require precise daily management. I provide a structured, attentive, warm environment & have high standards of care that meet each dogs needs.

Ratings and reviews
Anna is fantastic. This was the first time our dog “Kevin” boarded with Anna and the experience was great. She took great care of him and provided regular updates with photos and videos. Highly recommend her for all you needs.

My puppy always has a great experience at Anna’s!

Anna is a wonderful person, she took great care of Leo. I highly recommend her.

Anna is amazing! My dog Toluca has done multiple daycare visits and a 10 night boarding and she always has a great time! Anna is very responsive and provided us with daily updates which included pictures and videos. She took really good care of our dog the entire time. We felt so secure with having our dog stay with her, it was her home away from home. I would recommend Anna for any dog care services. We cares deeply about the dogs that stay with her.

We love Anna and so does Miss Molly. It's a mini vacation for Molly when we go away and we are at ease knowing she is in good loving hands having the time of her life.

Anna watched our 10yr old lab for the weekend and took great care of her. Lots of outdoor playtime and walks. You can really tell how much she cares for animals.

Schedule
Boarding & daycare is a great fit for me as I am home full-time; I schedule errands around my dogsitting schedule so it doesn’t conflict with the care the dogs require & they are not left alone for more than three hours. I cater to owners who prioritize a high standard of personalized care. Because I am home full-time, I provide the constant, predictable presence dogs with medical conditions, anxious or sensitive dogs need to feel secure. I build our daily rhythm entirely around your dog's individual needs; for dogs with medical conditions, it is particularly important to stick to medical timelines, I ensure medications & therapies are given precisely on schedule & appointments with vets are attended to on time. Activities are never one-size-fits-all; I monitor the weather to customize our day, shifting to indoor activities like puzzles & hide & seek on harsh days, enjoying paced outdoor activities when the weather is ideal.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I have a well-trained medium sized dog who enjoys the company of other dogs whether in the home or on a walk. My yard is fenced in and I am located in a quiet neighborhood. The safety and well-being of the dogs I care for is paramount; I embrace the responsibilities required to meet each dogs needs.
Pets
A typical day
My goal is to meet the specific needs of the dogs I care for which means a typical day varies depending on the dog. Some dogs are enriched by walks where they are given the time & space to explore their surroundings, some prefer higher intensity walks. Some dogs are enriched by activities like fetch, swimming, searching for things, doing puzzles, socializing with other dogs, socializing with humans, playing games, or showing me how smart they are when I ask them to do their tricks for me!!

- Is my home the right fit for you & your dog? It’s important my home feels like a safe, secure, harmonious, & enriching environment for all dogs who visit. To maintain this I do not accept dogs with dominant/aggressive behaviours (territorial, dominant, protective, alpha, & intense resource guarding, tendencies); high-risk or guardian breeds (Pitbulls, Rottweilers, Huskies); high energy dogs (puppies, dogs under 3, dogs requiring heavy physical exercise); dogs with severe behavioural issues (destruction, aggression, severe separation anxiety, dogs requiring continuous care). It’s important for me to know what your dog’s needs are & how you expect me to meet them. It’s important to know if your dog has any behaviours or reactions that require special attention & how you wish for these to be addressed (this includes anxiety in response to certain triggers). It’s important to know if they have any past or current medical conditions, allergies, or sensitivities & how you wish for these to be managed while I care for them. It’s crucial for me to understand your dogs play style so I can ensure I adapt to it & if I am sitting any other dogs, they’re grouped with dogs who have a compatible style (this decreases the risks of accidental injuries, escalation into fights, & stress & anxiety resulting from overwhelm). I also want to know if your dog has been to daycare or boarded before, what the environment was like, & what their experience was like. I walk dogs that board & come for daycare, some like to spend time sniffing or exploring, some prefer to get exercise. If your dog has been threatened/attacked while on/off leash, has exercise intolerance, is sensitive to weather conditions, or has a high prey drive please let me know so we can discuss ways to manage these things.
