I live in a four-story home with a large porch and a fully fenced-in grass area, providing a secure space for fresh air and quick outdoor breaks. I’m within walking distance of several small parks for regular potty breaks, and Schenley Park is nearby for longer walks and more active outings. I tailor activity levels to each pet’s needs, whether that means energetic playtime or a slower, relaxed pace. In clients’ homes, I’m respectful, reliable, and attentive to each pet’s routine to ensure they feel comfortable and stress-free. I’m happy to follow specific instructions, including feeding schedules, medications, or crate training if needed. I also have a car and can transport pets if needed—for example, to parks, appointments, or other preferred locations.

Loving Pet Sitter, Flexible Hours

Pet care experience

I grew up with a dog and have been caring for dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments since I was young. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to check in on, feed, walk, and spend quality time with their pets, and I truly love building connections with each animal I meet. As a medical student, I’m responsible, attentive to detail, and comfortable handling a wide range of needs—including caring for senior pets or those who may require a little extra patience and attention. I understand how important it is to have someone you trust looking after your pet, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. I currently have a flexible schedule with significant time off through mid-late May, so I’m available for drop-ins, walks, and overnight stays. Whether your pet needs playtime, companionship, or just a reliable check-in, I’d love to help!

My daughter Anna Slingerland absolutely loves dogs! She is the reason we got our black lab Lucy in the first place. She spent hours with Lucy, taking her for walks, feeding her, dressing her up, and simply spending lots of time with her. Later, when she was working, she took care of her boss’s pitbull mix, Thoren, which she absolutely loved!. She even took care of him free of charge over weekends and vacations. Finally, when these dogs were no longer around, she fostered a dog Bonnie, a tiny mix of some sort, while the animal shelter sought a permanent owner. Bonnie adored Anna, and vice versa. Anna has a dog instinct, and will do anything to make sure a dog is happy and well taken care of. She herself is both a very kind person, and one who takes her responsibilities seriously. I highly recommend her as a dog sitter!

Without question, Anna is THE BEST dog-sitter that we've ever had (out of a dozen)! She has lovingly cared for our 6 year old cocker spaniel since he was a 12 week old puppy (overnights, walks, etc). As a result, she and Louis (our doggy) have established the most beautiful relationship. In fact, we hadn't seen Anna for a couple years while she was in medical school, and she recently visited us. I was curious to see if Louis remembered her after so many years...and there was no question he did, he went crazy with excitement when she walked in (and he's usually very wary/grumpy when people come to our door). She clearly LOVES dogs and they LOVE HER! She truly is the best caretaker!!! And she's the most delightful, responsible, caring person, too...
