When caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and comfortable as possible. I make sure they get plenty of attention, playtime, and exercise throughout the day. I follow the owner’s instructions closely for feeding schedules, walks, medications if needed, and any specific care instructions. I also make sure pets feel safe and relaxed by giving them lots of love, supervision, and a calm environment. I enjoy being outside, so walks and outdoor play are something I really enjoy doing with dogs.

I’ve learned that getting to know each dog ahead of time is super important so I can give them the best care possible. I always like to ask about their daily routine, including feeding times, potty schedule, and how much exercise they usually get, so I can keep things consistent for them. I also make sure to understand their diet, including exact food portions, any allergies, and what treats they can or can’t have. Knowing their behavior and personality is really important too—like how they do with other dogs or people, if they have any anxiety, or if there are certain triggers I should avoid. I ask about any medical needs, such as medications or health concerns, and get vet and emergency contact information just in case. It’s also helpful to know if they’re crate trained, where they usually sleep, and if they have any habits like chewing or accidents.
A typical day
I love keeping pets active, happy, and mentally stimulated! Depending on their personality and energy level, we’ll do things like walks, playtime with their favorite toys, and games like fetch or tug-of-war. I also love incorporating little “brain games” like hiding treats or practicing basic commands to keep them engaged.
