I just relocated to the Maryland/DC area from Monterey, California. I am excited to be back on the east coast and I look forward to making some new friends here! I love exotic animals (and farm animals) and I also offer petsitting services for these friends, just send me a message and I can make you a custom booking. I can give any medications to your pets, including pills, injections, and topical medication for no extra charge. All medication administration is including in my base rates. I have experience giving insulin, chemo, daily fluids, and many other medications. I love watching elderly animals and I can provide any needed medical care. I live and work in Maryland but I am happy to housesit and do drop-in visits and walks for anyone in Maryland, Virginia, or DC. My service area is wide and I don't mind driving a bit to get to your house. I have military base access and I'm happy to watch animals living on military bases in the area. I worked as a veterinary technician for over 5 years before I started working in human medicine. I worked at a veterinary hospital in Georgia for over five years while I completed college. I frequently petsat during high school and college and cared for several animals that were medically fragile. I enjoy bottle-feeding puppies and kittens in my free time. I love all types of animals and can provide advanced medical care to boarding animals. I have worked with all sizes, shapes, and types of animals at the vet clinic and have had many exotic animals of my own. I currently have 4 dogs, 3 birds, and 2 hedgehogs. I am happy to watch any number of animals, including farm animals, please just send me a message and I can create a custom booking for you and your pets depending on the level of care that they need. My husband and I live with our 4 dogs in La Plata, Maryland. We have a large fenced in yard and plenty of space to play in. We have 2 doves in a birdcage at home but they will not interfere with the dogs. We are unable to host cats in our home due to an allergy but I am available to petsit for cats in your home. My husband watches our animals while I am away housesitting, they would not come with me to any of my bookings.

Anna was very sweet with our dogs. She was communicative and sent plenty of pictures. The pups clearly had a good time with her!
She is brilliant! I had to leave immediately for a family emergency and she came through for us.Having never met my three dogs I was worried but she would have problems but she even managed to charm my grouchy chihuahua.
Anna is the best and always takes such good care of our pooches.
Anna is awesome! She did an amazing job taking care of our dog while we were away. She was great about texting us updates and photos, and we felt so comfortable that our dog was in great hands. I would definitely book with Anna again and highly recommend working with her!

Schedule
I work about 15 hours out of the home each week but other than that I am always home. I have 4 dogs of my own, 3 birds, and 2 hedgehogs so taking care of animals is something I enjoy doing. I recently adopted 2 hedgehogs and I hope to keep growing my animal family in the future. I don't have kids and my husband also assists with animal care when needed (the dogs are my kids let's be honest).

Safety, trust & environment
When I am boarding dogs at my home, they are one of my family and do the same things my dogs are doing. I take everyone outside frequently and I am always throwing a ball or playing tug of war with someone. If I'm napping, the dogs are on the bed with me napping too. Usually everyone is pretty happy to be lounging on the couch or following me around the house while I do my chores. I have a large fenced in yard that I prefer to use to exercise dogs and take them to potty. I am happy to walk dogs around the neighborhood if they need the extra exercise but I do require that the dog has a well fitting harness. Some dogs are master escape artists from their collars/harnesses (little houdinis), so if this is the case for your dog we will be playing inside my fenced in yard instead. My fence is about 6 feet tall so if your dog is capable of jumping higher than this please let me know when booking.

A typical day
I love to give belly rubs and take dogs on walks to explore the neighborhood! I am a human nurse and I am able to administer any medical treatment needed. I love playing fetch with dogs I am petsitting for and taking them for walks to explore new areas.
