When I pet-sit for others, I respect/adhere to their criteria (e.g., indoor cats are kept indoors, dogs needing fences are kept in fenced areas, etc.). With my own cats, I make sure they get all the cuddle and playtime they need. I do the same when dog-sitting (my sister's Golden Retriever is a bundle full of energy!) I feed my cats wet food twice a day and ensure that their dry food and water bowls are kept filled. When pet-sitting (dogs or cats), I always follow the feeding routine as requested by the owner. I always pay close attention to pet behavior, being mindful of any unusual behavior. I make sure to let the owner know of such behavior to determine whether any emergency action is needed. I am also very chatty with all pets, so rest assured that they won't feel lonely!

Let me know if your pet has any special needs or requires medication. I'm willing to work with you to provide the best care possible for your pet. I will let you demonstrate exactly how to administer any medication/treatment, and then we can discuss whether I am comfortable doing so while I'm taking care of your pet.
A typical day
When I pet-sit, I don't just pop in, fill the food bowls, scoop the poop, and leave. Even for pets that are less social than others, I stick around for a bit, so they know there is a loving presence there. And I love playing with pets! I play fetch, run around with them in the yard, take them on walks (fast- or slow-paced), and I am open to taking them to the park or large fields. My cats enjoy the classic laser pointer and pipe cleaner play. If they prefer a lowkey night, I'm also down for all of the snuggles! I am also firm believer in keeping things clean, so I am willing to do some light cleaning while visiting with your pet.
