I’ve been taking care of dogs and cats majority of my life. I have always bonded with any animal I’ve interacted with and have even put in a lot of extra work to bond with animals that are skittish around people. I started working at a doggy daycare at 18 y/o & acquired 3 years of professional experience dog handling. I have supervised 40-70 dogs on a daily basis, working in any and all types of weather. Besides supervising the daycare dogs, this job involved taking care of the boarding dogs or cats; feeding them at scheduled times and administering medication, pills & shots. I was also trusted enough to become the overnight caretaker & lived there for 5 months doing that before leaving to work a different job. Working overnight involved doing nightly checks on all rescues & dogs staying overnight and overlooking the cameras constantly to make sure no dogs had escaped their kennel or pen. As the overnight caretaker, I was also responsible for early/late pick-ups and drop-offs & taking care of the entire facility myself when all other employees could not make it to work due to inclement weather. While working at this daycare, I would also bathe dogs, maintain cleanliness of the facility, work with the rescues and/or singles to try to socialize them and have also been responsible for taking care of the few litters of puppies we had during a few months of my stay there. I have knowledge on assessing behavioral patterns/issues, signs of health issues/emergencies, properly breaking up a dog fight/preventing a fight from starting. I am very self-motivated and always strive to do my best with any job/task I am given & would very much appreciate anyone giving me the chance to care for their fur baby!
