Pet care experience

Your Beltline Pet Lover

I bring nearly two decades of hands-on experience as both a cat and dog owner, and that depth of real-life care shapes the way I look after every pet I meet. As a Beltline local, I love supporting my neighbors and their pets right here in the core. I’ve supported animals through every stage of life—from playful kittens and energetic pups to seniors who need patience, gentleness, and medication routines. I’ve cared for pets with different personalities and needs, including administering medications, monitoring senior health changes, and even handling nail trims. I’m calm, observant, and tuned in to body language, which helps animals relax and trust me quickly. I currently share my home with two cats and my dog Oreo (who is often mistaken for a very friendly skunk due to his coloring!), so I’m used to balancing different energy levels and making sure everyone feels secure and loved. What sets me apart is the combination of experience, intuition, and genuine affection. I treat every pet like they’re part of my own little “zoo,” and I’m dedicated to giving them the same level of care I’d want for my own. Message me for a $20 off code for your first booking!

We feel incredibly lucky to have found Anna during our time in Calgary. She responded right away to our request and stayed wonderfully communicative throughout, which immediately put us at ease. Because of her, we were able to enjoy dinner out and explore parts of the city that simply wouldn’t have been possible with Scout — and we never once worried about how she was doing. What truly stood out was how deeply and genuinely she cared for Scout. It didn’t feel like hiring a sitter; it felt like leaving her with someone who treats animals with the same love, intuition, and attentiveness she gives her own little “zoo.” The updates from the dog park were full of joy and personality, and it was clear Scout was not just safe, but genuinely happy — especially with her new buddy, Oreo. On top of her amazing care, Anna went above and beyond by sharing so many thoughtful local recommendations that made our stay even better. Her insights helped us discover places and experiences we wouldn’t have found on our own, and we appreciated that generosity more than she knows. Anna is calm, observant, experienced, and truly exceptional. We’re so grateful for her kindness and care, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book her again.

I met Anna about a year ago while walking my dog and we instantly connected — both as dog owners and as people who genuinely love animals. Since then, we’ve been walking our dogs together regularly, and I’ve seen firsthand how naturally calm, patient, and attentive she is with them. My Pomeranian absolutely adores her and is always excited to see her, which says everything. Anna has a gentle, reassuring presence that animals really respond to, and I would trust her completely with my dog’s care. If you’re looking for someone reliable, kind, and truly wonderful with animals, I can’t recommend Anna highly enough.

I’ve known her since we both lived in Vancouver, and from the very beginning our friendship revolved around our dogs. We were constantly out walking together, planning dog-friendly hangs, and swapping pet stories. There were plenty of times when we needed a day sitter, and we always felt completely comfortable leaving our two wiener dogs in her care at her place. That peace of mind says everything. She treats dogs like they’re her own — attentive, patient, and genuinely loving. Our dogs absolutely adored her. One of them would get so excited every time she saw her that she’d pee from happiness (which says a lot if you know dachshunds 😂). They were always relaxed, happy, and well cared for when they were with her. She’s also one of those people who seems to know every dog in the neighborhood. You couldn’t go for a walk without her stopping to say hi to someone’s pup — and they all knew and loved her back. Dogs naturally gravitate toward her calm, warm energy. If you’re looking for someone who is trustworthy, experienced, and truly a “dog person” at heart, you couldn’t ask for better.

Schedule

Pet care isn’t something I "squeeze in"—it’s the foundation of my daily life. With two cats and my dog Oreo at home, my day naturally begins and ends with feedings, walks, and playtime. Because I’m based right here in the Beltline and am home regularly throughout the day, I can offer the kind of consistent, reliable rhythm that pets need to feel secure. My schedule is built for flexibility; whether it’s a mid-day walk, a specific medication window, or evening enrichment, I’m already in "pet mode." I pride myself on being observant and available, making it easy to provide extra snuggles or check-ins exactly when your pet needs them most. For me, adding your pet to my routine feels less like work and more like expanding my own "little zoo" community.

Safety, trust & environment

Whether I’m in my home or yours, I operate with a true safety-first mindset. After nearly two decades of managing a multi-pet household, I’m highly attuned to body language, group dynamics, and what I like to call “pet politics.” In your home: I’m respectful, calm, and observant. I double-check doors and gates, follow your specific routines carefully, and prioritize keeping your pet’s environment familiar and low-stress. My goal is to provide enrichment, companionship, and structure that matches your pet’s personality and comfort level. In my home: I maintain a peaceful, organized space. With two cats and my dog Oreo, I’m experienced in slow, supervised introductions and ensuring every animal has their own designated safe space. I rely on consistent routines to reduce anxiety so your pet feels secure and genuinely cared for. Safety Protocol: I’m comfortable managing medication schedules and monitoring senior pets. In unfenced areas, I maintain a strict leash-on policy and stay attentive to surroundings at all times. I proactively scan for potential stressors to help ensure every walk or stay is smooth and incident-free.

Pets

A typical day

A typical day with me is built around keeping your pet comfortable, happy, and secure in their normal routine. I start by checking in on how they’re feeling — their energy, mood, and comfort level — and then shape the day around that. For playful, energetic pets, we’ll enjoy walks, interactive games, and enrichment activities that keep both their body and mind engaged. I love incorporating sniff time, light training reinforcement, and lots of positive attention. For more relaxed companions, the focus shifts to calm interaction, gentle play, brushing (if they enjoy it), and cozy companionship. I truly enjoy spending quality time with animals — whether that means active fun or quiet presence. Throughout the day, I balance activity with rest so pets don’t become overstimulated. I pay close attention to body language and adjust as needed to make sure they feel safe and understood. My goal is always the same: that your pet feels cared for, respected, and genuinely loved — not just supervised.

I find that the little details make all the difference. Let me know your pet’s routine, personality, favorite comforts, and anything that helps them feel safe. If they have triggers, medical needs, or specific boundaries, I truly appreciate that information ahead of time so I can support them properly. The more I understand about your pet, the more I can make their time with me feel familiar, calm, and secure.
