After I retired in 2024, I thought I would spend my days writing—until I realized how much I craved the quiet rhythm of caring for dogs and cats. There’s something steady about being with a pet. The routine of a walk. The way they settle when someone is simply present. The unconditional mutual affection. I work with a small number of clients so each animal has my full attention. I’m especially well-suited for dogs who are older, anxious, or just more comfortable in a calm, consistent environment. I’m reliable, mature, respectful of your home, and attentive to the small details that matter. Walks are unhurried and focused—always one dog at a time, always on leash. Decades of living in Vermont have taught me that weather is just part of the day, so your dog’s routine stays intact in every kind of weather. I’m in my 60s, a retired technical writer and an adjunct English professor. I genuinely value the comforting presence and connection pets bring into a home. I’m happy to meet you beforehand to make sure it feels like the right fit—for you and for your pet.

Ann was wonderful! She kept me up to date on how my elderly dog was doing and made me feel confident that she was in good hands. My older lady needs constant care now and Ann handled everything with grace and care. I felt comfortable leaving my girl in someone else’s care for the first time in ages!
Ann was fantastic staying in my home with my dog! I have an anxious pup and she did a meet and greet ahead of time to help him warm up. I knew she took good care of him with all her picture updates and I felt very comfortable knowing Oliver was in good hands. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her!

100% The best part of working with Ann was the meet and greet she arranged before she agreed to stay with Finn. We talked about Finn’s care and his habits as an older dog. Ann discussed her experience with older dogs, and she interacted with him in a kind and caring way. By the time we were done, both my husband and I had complete confidence in Ann’s ability to care for Finn. We knew we would be able to leave him in her care and not worry while we were on holiday. While we were gone kept us regularly updated on how things were going and sent us pictures of Finn. Bottom line, I would highly recommend Ann as a kind, caring, and compassionate sitter who will care for your pup like it was her own. Thank you Ann.

Schedule
I travel a lot so it’s usually best to book me with a lot of advance notice. I am flexible most days of the week and will not leave your pet alone for long periods of time.
