My husband and I are retired and one of us is with our Rover dogs constantly. Your pup will be very closely monitored, played with, walked and loved. Since we are retired a flexible dog sitting schedule fits our lifestyle as we may pick up and go on a trip at any time for any length of time. I book dogs whenever I am available either in MA or ME.

Safety, trust & environment

I walk my Rover dogs for exercise since we have no fencing in our yard. We also play in the house or on our large screened porch. One of us is always with your dog so they are never left alone. We have two entry doors, one into the house and another into the kitchen. We make sure if we open one the other is closed. We provide a crate for sleeping if the dog is willing and always keep our bedroom door shut at night when we have a dog in our care. We have baby gates up so our pups can’t go upstairs alone. Also we have gates blocking off the kitchen so a dog can’t be in there alone and if I’m in there for a while the dog will be in there with me. Your dogs safety, good health and protection are my top priority.

Information Ann T. would like to know about your pet

Is the dog generally well behaved? Does your dog get along with other dogs, cats? How does the dog react with children and the elderly. Does it have medical issues, dietary allergies or restrictions, fears or phobias. Food aggressive?Does it get aggressive for any reason. Has it bitten anyone. Does your dog walk well on a leash. Is he/sge obedience trained. Does the dog come when called...sometimes, every time? Is your dog allowed on sofas and beds at home? Are Rabies and other vaccinations up to date? Does your dog get annual physicals, heart worm preventative, flea and tick preventative? Could you please provide a permission slip should I have to take your dog to his/her vet. Ask your vet what they would need included. This is most important if you plan to travel out of the country or out of communication range.

A typical day

Street walks from my home. We walk to a nearby lake and on wooded paths once there. Playing ball etc. inside and on our large screened porch. Reiki and massage are offered if the dog allows and wants. Training if needed especially for safety as we negotiate our fairly busy and narrow street. Homemade dog training treats/cookies.

Pet care experience

I have had 3 wonderful and obedient German Shepherds live to ripe old ages. Extra services might include brushing, Reiki (healing/relaxing energy work) obedience training, home baked dog cookies. I have had lot’s of experience taking care of older and sick dogs (my own primarily.) I am very caring and responsible and will take care of your pet like it is my own. Friends and family have said many times that they would like to be reincarnated as my dog. They have also said many times that our dogs are more obedient than their kids! I love long walks in the woods or at the beach with my dogs. A fit dog is a happy dog. I can’t wait to meet you and your wonderful pet.

Absolutely FANTASTIC! You can tell she really cares and will take care of your babies as if they’re her own. I will definitely be reaching out to Ann again to care for my pup 😊

Ann was so amazing with Ollie! You can really tell that working with dogs isn’t just something Ann likes to do on the side, but it’s something she’s really passionate about. I felt so comfortable knowing Ollie was safe with her, and she sent me tons of photos and updates, which I greatly appreciated. I will definitely be reaching out to her in the future!

In August, we adopted our 6-year-old rescue, Dwight, and were initially nervous about leaving him with someone new while we went on a family trip. Thankfully, we found Ann, and it turned out to be the best decision we could have made! Ann cared for Dwight for 7 nights, and throughout that time, she kept us updated with daily photos, messages, and videos of Dwight cuddling, resting, and getting his walks in. Not only did Ann take amazing care of Dwight, but she also helped work on his leash manners, teaching him to walk more calmly by our side. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Dwight was safe, happy, and in such loving hands. Since we’ve been back, Dwight lights up every time she sees Ann when we go on our walks —it’s clear he adores her! We’re so grateful for Ann’s care and can’t recommend her highly enough to other pet parents.

Ann and her husband treated my 9 y/o boy like he was their own. I highly recommend their services to every dog owner!
