Safety, trust & environment

My large back yard is securely fenced and I never leave your dog alone outside unsupervised. Your dog's safety and happiness is my main concern. There is always fresh, clean water available, both inside and outside, and I have lots of toys and games to keep him active. Food bowls are washed regularly, and I will feed your dog separately from my dog. I have a large, bright, comfy room where your dog will stay if I have to leave for a while. It has views to the back yard, a dog bed, and a ceiling fan.

Information Ann L. would like to know about your pet

Does your dog have any food or other allergies? Does she have any food restrictions? Need any medications? Is he a resource guarder or fear biter? How does he react to thunderstorms/fireworks?

A typical day

I live near the New Berlin recreation trail, a great place for dogs to stretch their legs and catch some new sniffs. My large fenced yard is big enough for the zoomiest dog to burn off that extra energy! In the summertime two large shade trees and a kiddie pool will keep your buddy cool! If the weather doesn't cooperate, I have have a toy box full of dog toys and plenty of puzzle games to keep your dog's mind busy. At night, your pup is welcome to snuggle on the bed with me! For the safety of all dogs involved, your dog will be either crated or gated in my dining room (with patio door for your dog's viewing pleasure) if I need to leave the house.

Pet care experience

Let your dog spend the day with me in my large, securely fenced yard where several mature trees offer some much welcome shade in the summer! We’ll play fetch, tug, scent games, or just chill in the breeze. If your dog likes, he can join my dog, Chester, in a game of chase! Toy boxes both indoors and outdoors will help keep your dog occupied while he's here. I have fostered many dogs for the Great Lakes Border Collie Rescue over the past 14 years, and I will care for your pup as I would like my own dog cared for! If you'd rather have your dog stay home in familiar surroundings, I can come to your house for a 30- or 60-minute drop-in visit and give your dog a potty break, meal, short walk, play, and love. (Over 30 years working in the public safety sector means you can trust me in your home!) I am retired from full-time employment and I offer daycare too!! Don't have time to drop off or pick up your dog? I offer both pick-up and drop-off at a small additional fee. I try very hard to have no more than two guest dogs in my home at any given time, however, I will on occasion book up to two overnight guests at a time if I know them well and believe they will do well together. This in addition to my daycare guests means I may have three guest dogs during the daytime. This is a rare occurrence however. I require all my guests to show proof of vaccinations (including bordatella or "kennel cough") or titers , as well as current flea/tick prevention, prior to booking their stay. Please bring your dog's blanket/bed or a favorite toy to help him feel more at home while he's here. No need to bring bowls--I have plenty--and they are washed daily.
