Safety, trust & environment

I want to ensure your pets get the care and comfort that you usually provide. If you do two walks totaling 5 miles per day, that is what they will get from me. If you require them to have strict behavior standards, I will do the same. If you have couch-potato loungers in your house - yep, that is what they will get here. I do want them to always be safe, so I do have a few basic rules: no rushing doors, no jumping on people, no hanging out in the kitchen when cooking (it's just too dangerous!). Meeting your pet appropriately sets the tone for the rest of our time together. I always watch an animal's behavior and go appropriately from there to keep them from being stressed and fearful and keep us all safe.

Information Ann B. would like to know about your pet

Does your pet have special needs? Is your pup fearful or reactive when on leash or maybe do some resource guarding? Let me know and we can discuss how I can best care for them to ensure they get the care they needs, they feel as comfortable as possible and that everyone is kept safe.

A typical day

From what they already love to finding new options, most pups and kitties need some enrichment. Kibble bowling if we're stuck inside? Sure! Learning new games, such as touch my hand or find it? Absolutely! Sniffing mats? Those are super fun! For walks, my goals are to 1) keep everyone safe, 2) have them enjoy their time, and 3) ensure that your requirements for them are met. For example, if you have a social dog who enjoys other dog's company, I would be Auntie to another dog when your precious pup is here, but only after ensuring that they get along well. On the other hand, if you have a reactive pooch, I would never have another dog over at the same time.

Pet care experience

Heck, everyone on Rover loves animals - so how do you choose someone? Hopefully my experience will help you feel comfortable that your darling pup or kitty is in the best hands possible. There is not much that I enjoy more than being with animals. I would be humbled by your trust in me to take the best possible care of yours, in a way that you value. I've taken care of pets since I was young - I babysat for folks who also had animals and took care of goats, bunnies, ponies, geese, hunting dogs, and so on while watching the kiddos. At home, I had dogs, cats, horses, and ducks. Except for the times I was recovering from the loss of a loved animal, I've always had - and loved - pets. I worked for an animal rescue for several years and currently volunteer for Front Street Animal Shelter. I am fear free certified; that said, I have experience using balanced training methods will follow whatever protocols you follow. My main goal is to keep your pet safe - and that includes keeping it safe from any behaviors that could put it at risk in our human world. I love to use play and games that help create a relationship with our furry friends and teach them good behaviors. With dogs, I am a good (and, when needed, strong) leader. I have fostered and walked dogs of all ages, sizes and types, from puppy to senior, easy-going to reactive, super healthy to medical needs, and Chihuahua to Mastiff. Please contact me and learn more about how I can be a pet-Auntie for your furry friends.

Great with my furbabies! Normally they take a week or so to get to know someone, but I was getting updates on my shy kitties the first day. All my instructions were followed to a T and I will definitely be calling on her next time I need to be out of town.
