Ann can care for
Availability
I currently work from home and have a flexible schedule that I can make work with most scenarios. Morning walks? Great! Afternoon check-ins? Easy. Dinner in the evening? Totally doable. I can also stay and hang out with your pets for longer periods of time if you allow me access to your Wi-Fi so I can do my regular day job while I'm there too!

I am open to most requests, and will be fully transparent in cases I don't think I'm well suited for. I'm comfortable with walking, brushing, feeding, and snuggling just about any cat and/or dog. I'm capable of administering medications as directed, and am very observant thanks to my years in vetmed. I do ask that your pet is up to date on all vaccines legally required in our area - must have their rabies vaccine up to date (and tag on their collar if we're leaving the house. Puppies/kittens that are age exempt are totally fine too! :) ) I don't love driving with your pet in my vehicle until I've gotten to know them a little bit and can know more about their behavior. Once I do know them, I'm open to taking them to parks and things like that. I love a pup-cup run!! I do not bring your pets into my own home to stay for the safety of my own two cats, so I can't board them if something comes up at your home.
Information Ann B. would like to know about your pet
Are they up to date on vaccines? (Rabies required) Can they have treats and/or do they have dietary restrictions? Any toy restrictions? (If they're know to swallow/eat them whole or chew too aggressively for their teeth, I'm happy to find other ways to stay busy!) Any medical or behavioral concerns? Yes or no for dog parks? Do they get on well with other pets and/or humans?
A typical day
Enrichment is something I'm super passionate about for both cats and dogs, so I love to play with them, work on training with them, and keep their minds active. It's found to help overall with anxious pets, but it's also just good fun! I also love to go on long walks and find a nice spot under a tree where we can sit and have some snacks, people watch, and get some fresh water.

Pet care experience
I have had pets my WHOLE life! Cats, dogs, lizards, snakes -- my home was a zoo growing up! I'm a former biology major because of my love for animals and have dedicated the last 7.5 years of my career to animals working for a veterinary clinic. I have been a veterinary receptionist, reception supervisor, assistant, and now I'm a veterinary recruiter (all for the same clinic.) I know the fundamentals of patient care and triage and what to pay close attention to when handling pets. I also volunteer for the KC Zoo as an animal care specialist and am very good with basic animal husbandry. I have two cats of my own- one for 13 years and the other one for the last 7 years. One of my kittos has been on medication for the last 10 years and requires a good amount of monitoring in his litter box, so I'm good with meds and am very vigilant. I feel I could help on a case-by-case basis for pets who may need extra levels of monitoring and care. I am still a pet sitter in the end though, and cannot replace the care of your pet's veterinary care team. ❤️ I would consider myself a helicopter mom for my own fur-babies, so I completely understand the desire for extra photos of your pets while you're away so feel free to let me know if you want extra photo/text updates! I love dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes, but am particularly fond of senior babies. I love wrinkles, squishy faces, droopy jowls, biscuit bakers, and good ah-woos here and there. If your pet loves snuggles, sign me up! If they like to play, I'm game! I am also a big fan of respecting boundaries and earning the trust of the timid babies over time. <3

Reviews

Ann was so fantastic watching my Shih Tzu while I had surgery! She took great care of him and even came over super early in the morning. I would highly recommend her!

Ann not only put great care of our senior dog, but also our home! She sent plenty of updates in cute pictures and we came home to a house in even better shape than when we left it! It’s great peace of mind knowing everything is being taken care of at home when you travel and we will definitely use her again.

We’ve had Ann watch our cat a number of times now, and she always does a fantastic job. Love the updates and the pictures, and love coming home to a happy cat!

Once again, Ann did an amazing job taking care of Harper and Molly! She sends plenty of pictures and videos and keeps the same schedule for our spoiled pups. :D The girls love her - will definately use Ann again!
